Former UConn basketball player Rakim Lubin has died at 28, according to an online obituary.
According to an obituary from Prestige Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Gadsden, Alabama, Lubin passed away on Sunday.
A cause of death was not listed.
'We ask that you please keep this family and those that may be going through the same lifted in prayer,' the obituary read.
Lubin played the 2014-15 season at UConn before transferring to Cal State Northridge.

According to the Hartford Courant, he earned the name 'Rock' because of his bruising style of play.
He averaged 1 point and 1.2 rebounds per game at Connecticut as a freshman before transferring.
At Cal State Northridge, he averaged 8.5 points and 5.2 rebounds in the 2016-17 season.
