A woman whose ex-boyfriend threatened to send nudes and sex videos to her friends and family after she exposed his affair with another woman has opened up about her months-long campaign of harassment.

Ethan Henshaw, 31, pleaded guilty in Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday to threatening to distribute an intimate image without consent and multiple breaches of an apprehended violence order (domestic violence).

Court documents revealed he and his former partner, who cannot be named for legal reasons, ended their eight-year relationship in August 2023, but the situation took a dark turn two months later when she got a call from his acquaintance.

During that call, she confirmed the acquaintance's suspicion that Henshaw - who lives in Boolaroo, near Newcastle, and works as a car wholesaler - had been sleeping with his girlfriend.

Henshaw was furious with her for disclosing the affair, sent her 12 photos and videos which showed her performing sex acts, and told the acquaintance he 'may or may not send the images out to her family and friends'.

She went to the police, before he was arrested, charged, and placed in police custody, before he was released on conditional bail for $2,000 surety and slapped with an AVO - which he breached a month later by sending her emails and Snapchat messages under the name 'Bingus'.

Henshaw had appeared at the court in person on Thursday, dressed in a navy suit with a fresh haircut, but was arrested immediately after court and charged over an outstanding warrant.

Now, his victim has told Daily Mail Australia she has had enough.

The woman revealed that she had phoned police herself to find out that he was wanted by police for breaching bail, and has called on the courts to do more to protect victims.

'What I don’t understand is how or why courts are letting serial offenders like Ethan continue to have access to their victims,' she said.

'Throughout this whole process, he has continued to violate his AVO and bail conditions, which I’ve immediately reported to police as per their advice.

'He has been charged on different occasions since October with breaching these conditions. Despite this, magistrates keep granting him bail.'

She revealed that she has moved house twice in six months and staggered her hours at work to reduce the likelihood that she would see him.

In court on Thursday, Henshaw hung his head as the prosecutor told the court he had 'accrued a lengthy criminal record' in relation to AVO breaches against the same woman.

According to the police facts, Henshaw was originally hit with an AVO in October 2023 over the intimate images.

He was ordered not to enter Sydney CBD or the suburb where the victim lived, he was not to contact her, and was to abstain from using social media unless it was for work.

At 10.32am on November 17 - a week after appearing in court on the intimate images charges - she received an email from Snapchat which said, 'Bingus added you as a friend' .

Bingus was her nickname for Henshaw during their relationship.

She accepted the friend request and, just after midday, she got an email from an account starting with 'Bingus8893'.

The email read: 'I'm worried about you. I still care about you, never stopped, will never not care, no matter what. I hope you are happy and you are okay. I am here if you ever need me and I always will be.

'If you need to talk or some company, or a cuddle just say so. I am not upset with you and I only want you to be happy, that's all that is important.'

She was at work and did not reply during the day, but went to the police station at about 8pm that evening and opened them in the presence of police.

The first message read: 'I'm not here to harass you, bother you, upset you or anything remotely negative. I am just trying to check in and make sure you are okay.

'I worry about and I really truely care about you. I hope you understand I am aware of the risk and implications to me making sure you are okay but you are important to me.'

Police then searched her local area and found Henshaw sitting in a grey BMW about 100 metres from her house, which was a violation of his bail and AVO conditions.

When asked why he was in the area, he told police that he was going to take his dog for a walk and was often in the area because he worked in car wholesale.

He denied contacting his ex-girlfriend via email and Snapchat, refused to answer further questions, and was arrested and charged with breaching an AVO.

In court on Thursday, Magistrate Daniel Reiss granted a request by prosecutors to implement a final AVO to protect the victim from Henshaw for five years, rather than the standard two years.

Henshaw's phone was seized by police following his arrest in October. Before he gets it back, he will have to delete all the intimate images of his ex-girlfriend from the device and any cloud accounts.

Henshaw was denied bail following his arrest after court on Thursday and will face court again on Friday.

His two further AVO breaches will be mention in Burwood Local Court on May 31.

He will appear in the Downing Centre on July 19 for sentencing over the intimate images charges and two AVO breaches.
