It was meant to be the happiest day of her life - but only two days before, the blushing bride-to-be had been given the devastating diagnosis that she had terminal cancer.
Scarlett Thrustmore, 48, found out she had stage four breast cancer only 48 hours before she was due to walk down the aisle but decided to keep it from her guests.
'I almost never answer the phone and I did that day because I thought it was from the doctor's and must be something important,' Scarlett, who lives in Vancouver, Washington, recalled.
'I was devastated. I cried. You hear that term, "your life flashed before your eyes" and it kind of did,' she admitted.

Scarlett made the decision to keep the news from her guests so she could enjoy the day
The mom-of-six admitted the diagnosis felt 'like a death sentence,' and she was immediately struck with how much she wanted to do in her life.
'I kind of already knew. I already anticipated I was going to get a result I wasn't going to care for,' she said.
Scarlett managed to put on a brave face throughout the Star Wars-themed wedding on Saturday, May 4 and decided to hide the news from wedding guests until a few days later.
She admitted there were moments in which she 'mourned herself' however on the whole the fun of her big day served as a distraction from the awful news so she was able to enjoy the day and 'just be a bride.'
'There was so much love and joy in the room. I had no choice but to get caught up in that,' the newlywed gushed.
'There were a few key people that already knew and they were wonderful and made sure I didn't have to think about anything. I could just be a bride.'
'It was a beautiful, chaotic, amazing day. It was so pretty, it was everything,' she reflected.
'Seeing how much everyone was there rooting for us. They were so thrilled that we were finally getting married,' she added.

Heart-warming photos from the nuptials show the couple enjoying their celebrations, laughing and joking with friends and family despite the terrible news and sporting Star Wars outfits.
Scarlett says laughter was the key to the day, with Jason vowing to be 'enslaved' to her forever and the Star Wars-obsessed couple saying it would be 'til the Death Star do us part.'
The performer said she is waiting to find out what the next steps will be for her incurable disease but urges other women to regularly self-examine themselves to catch the early signs of breast cancer as she was 'absolutely terrible' herself.
'I'm absolutely terrible at doing monthly breast exams,' she admitted. 'Self-examine every month without fail. Put it in your calendar.
'Don't fail yourself. I failed myself that way. I don't want other women to fail themselves that way.'

'Had I been diligent, maybe I could have caught it sooner,' she pointed out. 'Someone else might be able to catch it before they are stage four.'
In the meantime, she's making the most of her time with her new husband, whom she said is devastated by her diagnosis.
'I'm the center of his universe and I'm not okay,' she said sadly. 'We had plans to grow very, very old together and wear matching outfits and be utterly annoying to everyone around us. I have to survive just for that if anything.'
'My life is beautiful, it's vibrant, it's full of so many wonderful things. It's absolutely worth fighting for,' she said.
She continued: 'We balance each other out very well. We're a really good team. I couldn't have picked a better guy.'
