Late night comedy hosts are having field day with the Donald Trump hush money trial with its cast of seedy characters from a porn star, a convicted fixer, tabloid publisher, president and playboy playmate.

As the scandalous testimony goes into a fourth week, the liberal comedians have been serving up jokes pulling from its salacious testimony about sex, secret payments, pseudonyms and Trump's wild 2016 campaign.

The jury may not have reached a verdict in the case yet, but in the court of late-night comedy, judgement has been rendered and the ex-president is the butt of ongoing jokes.

Writers with Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Late Night with Seth Meyers and more have been handed a goldmine of material as the ex-president stands trial on 34 charges of falsifying business records.

It's the first of four criminal cases against Trump to go to trial and perhaps the only one to took take place before the election.

And as liberal late night show hosts have made no secret of their dislike for the former president, no material from the courtroom has been off limits.

Stephen Colbert celebrated his 60th birthday with Michael Cohen taking the witness stand this week in the Manhattan criminal court, the final and star prosecution witness in the case.

On Monday, Colbert summarized the case as the 'faking business records to cover up banging a porn star trial' and described Cohen as a 'former fixer and silly putty who isn't feeling that silly these days.'

'As far as this affecting his marriage goes, according to Cohen, Trump wasn't worried about Melania leaving him, saying "don't worry, how long do you think I'll be on the market for? not long,"' Colbert noted with a grin.

'Coincidentally, not long is how Stormy described it,' Colbert joked, referencing porn star Stormy Daniels' description of alleged sex with Trump from the witness stand last week.

On Wednesday, Colbert seized on the reports of Trump having his eyes closed during Cohen's cross-examination.

'This is supposed to be the final standoff with his worst enemy, and Trump is asleep,' before showing a Star Wars fight scene edited to show Darth Vader in a nightcap sleeping.

The Daniels testimony had late night hosts giddy as they cover the case.

Colbert gleefully said she took the stand to 'do what she does best and that is to spank Donald Trump.'

He went on the recount the coverage of Trump and Daniels' 2006 hotel meeting and alleged sexual encounter on his show after Daniels went into great detail on the meeting in court.

Colbert focused on Trump reportedly saying Daniels reminds him of his daughter and joking about Daniels recalling how she was startled to find Trump pose on the bed.

Colbert also happily read courtroom reports on air including Daniels' zingers like when she countered during cross-examination if the sex with Trump hadn't been real 'I would have written it to be a lot better.'

'So in addition to hearing about it, the jury got to see her spank him in real time,' Colbert said.

The Daily Show's Jordan Klepper also served up a joke about the alleged spanking saying 'that poor, poor magazine. Hasn't print media suffered enough?'

Daily Show correspondents also got in on the action.

'Imagine if every time you committed a crime, the prosecutors could put your ex on the stand and describe your most mediocre hookup in grave detail,' Troy Iwata said appearing outside the courthouse on the show. 'And then a stenographer in a cardigan wrote it all down and then Jake Tapper broadcasted it on national television.'

Jon Stewart took aim at the television coverage of the trial described it as 'penis to penis coverage.'

On Daniels' testimony of 'missionary sex' he deadpanned 'no wonder Trump has locked up the evangelical voting bloc.'

Seth Meyers also zeroed in on the details of sex position, silk pajamas and spanking details of the testimony.

'Even news anchors can't report the news without turning red,' Meyers said.

Late night hosts also seized on prosecutors saying Daniels' testimony would not include descriptions of genitalia.

'It would be so funny to hear it described with him in the room,' Meyers declared. 'Just for the chance that during Stormy's testimony, Trump would sneak a glance down at his pants, and the courtroom artist would capture the moment.'

Jimmy Kimmel reveled in the fact his show was brought up during the trial. It was introduced into evidence because Kimmel had Stormy Daniels on his program in 2018.

He replayed a clip from his own interview with the porn star and questioning why he wasn't asked to testify, joking he would be able to keep Trump awake amid reports the former president has been falling asleep in court.

'Whether Trump's fallen asleep or not, one thing is for sure, the courtroom sketch artist hates him,' Kimmel said on his show showing one of the many drawings of Trump in the courtroom.

Kimmel also appeared on Seth Meyers' show on Monday where Meyers congratulated Kimmel for being mentioned during the trial.

Kimmel thanked him but countered it didn't compare to making so much fun of Trump during the White House Correspondents' Dinner that he ran for president.

Meyers was the headliner at the infamous 2011 dinner where Trump was in the audience before Trump launched his first presidential bid for the White House.

'I was excited to be mentioned,' Kimmel told Meyers. 'I don't know why I was excited to be mentioned, but I was definitely excited t be mentioned.'

The pair also took pleasure out of the fact Trump 'hates' them, joking that they would head down to the courthouse and wait with the public to get into the courtroom to watch the trial.

Meanwhile, Trump's visit to Wildwood, New Jersey over the weekend on one of his days off from court also provided a trove of content for late night hosts.

During rally, Trump called Hannibal Lecter as a 'wonderful man,' bashed Bruce Springsteen and talked about eating hot dogs.

When Trump returned to court this week, a reporter shouted out a question bringing up Trump's Lecter remarks at the former president walked through court.

'"Why Hannibal Lecter?" is such an amazing question to yell at a presidential candidate,' Meyers said on his show, playing the clip.

'By the way, that question nestled between to other questions about his criminal trial for defrauding voters by paying hush money to a porn star. For any other presidential candidate getting asked the question, "Why Hannibal Lecter?" would mean you're in a five-alarm s**t storm but for Trump just a normal Monday,' Meyers went on.

The late night host also delved into the Cohen testimony this week.

'Trump really thought if he ended up getting divorced for the third time after an affair with a porn star, he'd crush it on the dating scene,' Meyers said laughing 'What would his Tinder bio say? Love hot dogs, hates Springsteen, will definitely cheat.'
