Vice President Kamala Harris is reminding supporters that she is 'living proof' of the promise of America, as she tries to reassure Democratic donors that she and Biden will win reelection.

At a fundraiser in Chicago on Thursday, Harris left the podium with a hand-held microphone to speak frankly to a group of about 100 campaign donors.

'You know, I believe in the promise of America. I am empirical evidence of the promise of America,' she said.

Harris explained the 2024 election was about believing in the promise of America, but also being willing to fight.

'There is a direct connection between the promise of America and our willingness to fight for it,' she said.

Harris made a similar comment during a fundraiser in New York City on Tuesday.

'I believe in the promise of America and I believe in America's promise to her people,' she said. 'I am living proof of America's promise.'

As the first female and first black vice president, Harris is using her identity and biography to remind Americans of what is possible in America, thanks to her example.

The vice president claimed that during her last few trips overseas, world leaders approached her and expressed their desire for her and Biden would win reelection.

'[W]orld leaders came up to me — we're on a first-name basis — 'Kamala,' they said, 'Hope you guys are going to win,'' she recalled.

Despite recent polling results showing Trump leading Biden and Harris in several major swing states, Harris reassured donors that everything was fine.

'We are winning. We are winning,' she said as the audience applauded.

'We are winning,' she repeated. 'And we will win. We are winning, and we will win.'

Harris is currently struggling with some of the lowest approval ratings in modern history for a sitting vice president.

A May 13 poll conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies showed Harris with a 37 percent approval rating.

As Biden continues to demonstrate signs of aging, swing-state voters are not reassured that Harris would assume the duties of the president if he is unable to serve in the next four years.

Fifty-two percent of respondents said they did not trust Harris to assume the responsibilities of the presidency, according to a Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll of swing-state voters conducted in April.

Harris continues traveling to swing-states in an effort to bolster support for she and Biden, especially in black communities.

She traveled to Wisconsin on Thursday, the fourth time she has visited the state this. year.

During her visit, the vice president hosted a roundtable conversation about economic opportunities for black communities with comedian D.L. Hughley.

'We are now dropping trillions of dollars on the streets of America — Joe Biden and me and our administration,' Harris said.

On Monday, Harris made headlines for dropping the f-bomb during a roundtable discussion with comedian Jimmy O. Yang.

'Sometimes people will open the door for you and leave it open, and sometimes they won't— and then you need to kick that f***ing door down,' Harris said with a laugh.
