One of Scottie Scheffler's main rivals for the PGA Championship crown had a hilarious response to the golfer's arrest outside Valhalla Golf Club.

Scheffler has been the talk of the golf world as a major championship descended on Louisville, Kentucky over the weekend.

Scheffler is the No 1 golfer in the world and was returning to competition for the first time since the birth of his son. The attention on him only increased with Friday's incident while trying to enter the venue.

Scheffler was detained for around three hours and stretched for the second round of the PGA Championship from a jail cell.

It was rival Mark Hubbard who took to X to react to Scheffler's mugshot: 'No f***ing way Scottie only weighs 170…f*** I’m fat'.

Hubbard is still in contention at the PGA Championship despite shooting a two-over-par on Saturday, dropping him to seven-under-par overall for the tournament.

Scheffler and Hubbard both started Saturday at nine-under-par and dropped 20 spots in the standings to start the final round in a tie for 24th place.

They're both eight shots off the co-leaders Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele at 15-under-par.

Hubbard does have four professional wins as a golfer, but none have come on the PGA Tour.

Sunday will likely mark Hubbard's best-ever finish at a major tournament, with his previously best coming at the 2020 PGA Championship, where he finished in 51st place.

Scheffler has been billed at closer to 200 pounds at previous PGA events, with some on social media suggesting the determination of 30 pounds less than that came straight from his driver's license.

That would mean Scheffler likely weighed that amount during his late teenage years.
