Xander Schauffele has won the PGA Championship after edging fellow American Bryson DeChambeau on a thrilling final day at Valhalla to win his first major title.

Xander Schauffele has won his first major tournament at 21-under-par at the PGA Championship at Valhalla.

Schauffele started the event with a nine-under-par, record-breaking round. On Sunday, he followed it up with a six-under-par round to defeat Bryson DeChambeau by one stroke.

Xander Schauffele's second shot on the Par 5 last regulation hole of the PGA Championship was a great one, and now looks to be two solid strokes away from winning his first-ever major.

Bryson DeChambeau and Viktor Hovland are both now one stroke behidn leader Xander Schauffele after 16 holes at -19.

DeChambeau birdied on 16, while Hovland continued to cool down with a par.

Xander Schauffele did not extend his lead and stays one stroke ahead of Viktor Hovland with five holes to go.

With a chance to tie Xander Schauffele at -20, Hovland missed a birdie putt at hole No 15 and is one stroke behind the American leader.

Schauffele sunk anoher birdie putt at No 12 to put himself one stroke ahead of Viktor Hovland at -20 with six holes to go.

Schauffele birdies on No 11 to get even with Viktor Hovland at -19. We have seven holes to go.

No one has more confidence at Valhalla than Viktor Hovland. An amazing putt puts him on top at -19. He has five holes left.

Xander Schauffele shots a 6 to start his back nine and it is a tie at the top with VIktor Hovland at -18 with nine holes to go.

His 12th hole putt was true and he breaks his deadlock with DeChambeau

After a chaotic and whirlwind week, the Masters champion finishes strong with a final round 65 and will enter the clubhouse at 13-under.

It's a statement comeback after his arrest on Friday and a third-round 73 on Saturday.

The former US Open winner is three-under for the day so far

It's his first bogey in 34 holes after his miraculous round on Saturday

The Irishman came so close to seeing his chip shot fall, but there was too much speed on the ball.

He sank his par putt to move into a tie for second with Morikawa.

A bogey on the first got shaken off and the Irishman is now six shots away from the lead.

A very nice putt from just short of 30 feet out for the California native and he now sits alone at 16-under

Theegala perfectly reads a looooooooooong putt from 55 feet out and drains it for birdie to move into a tie for the lead

Schauffele and Morikawa have launched their tee shots and all the groups are out of the gates here at Valhalla

He had a chance to move up to 14-under, but his putt just missed the left edge of the cup

Alex Noren has come out of nowhere and is in a tie for ninth after going five-under through 13

Lowry's 62 yesterday is one of the lowest rounds ever, while Theegala has been sniffing around the leaders all week

After teeing off, the American missed an eight foot par putt to drop a stroke. He now sits at six-under par.

Rory is set to tee off in about 40 minutes

His ball bounces and rolls perilously toward the bunker, but he's safe

Adam Hadwin has now holed out from the fairway for eagle!

It's the second holeout from the fairway at this hole today and the 61st total holeout of the week.

Just a few days ago, Scheffler's Friday range session may have been the most watched pre-round practice of all time after he sped back from jail.

Now, with suggestion that the charges against him could be dropped (and his caddie back on the bag), will Scheffler feel a little less weight on his shoulders that he did yesterday?

What is it with the 13th hole at this place? First we have that Tosti drive, now we have Jordan Smith ripping back a wedge shot from the fairway to make an eagle to move to five-under for the day

With one blemish (a bogey on two), the Englishman has three birdies and an eagle as he's about to close out the front-nine. He currently sits at seven-under for the tournament and four-under for the day.

This thing got smacked 338 yards and landed six feet from the hole, which he rolled in for an eagle. Just an astounding shot!

Last year's champion will need about ten more of those to catch up to Schauffele and Morikawa.

The Swede had three birdies on the front nine and started the back with another birdie for a four-under day

The reigning PGA Champion will likely not be retaining his title as he sits eleven shots behind the leaders.

None of these four will be in contention, but nevertheless they're doing a good job moving their way up the leaderboard.
