HIT THE BAR! Arsenal 1-1 Everton

Arsenal have hit the post, and now they have hit the bar.

Substitute Emile Smith-Rowe produces a brilliant volley into the ground and it bounces onto the bar.

The Gunners have been unlucky in this second half.

16:46, 82'

Man City 3-1 West Ham

Jeremy Doku has been brilliant today, just can't get his goal.

He does well on the left-hand side before going for goal, but his strike is deflected into the side netting by Vladimir Coufal.

He has less than 10 more minutes if he wants to find a City fourth.

16:45, 80'

Man City 3-1 West Ham

Manchester City fans are having a brilliant party in the stands.

They are currently dancing while chanting about Kolo and Yaya Toure.

Meanwhile, on the pitch, their team are just stroking it about.

16:42, 79'

Arsenal 1-1 Everton

Leandro Trossard's afternoon is over, Gabriel Jesus replaces him.

Arsenal need a miracle to win this title, can Jesus of all people provide it?

16:41, 77'

Arsenal 1-1 Everton

Arsenal have the ball in the back of the net, but it's not going to count.

The referee blew way before the ball went in, and the majority of the Emirates knew that.

Some, however, did here, but not many.

16:40, 75'

Man City 3-1 West Ham

Mohammad Kudus is some talent, isn't he?

The Ghanaian winger drifts past several Manchester City players with ease. He is West Ham's bright spark.

I wouldn't if we saw some of Europe's best circling around him in the summer.

16:37, 73'

BIG CHANCE! Arsenal 1-1 Everton

Everton are throwing their bodies on the line to keep this at 1-1.

Jarrad Branthwaite and Jordan Pickford both seem to get in the way of Martin Odegaard's strike. Brilliant stuff from the pair of them.

This second may never come.

16:36

Man City 3-1 West Ham

Oliver Holt, Mail Sport Chief Sports Writer, at the Etihad:

City fans doing the Poznan at the Etihad. Any semblance of nerves has disappeared after that third goal from Rodri. The title party is beginning.

16:34, 70'

Man City 3-1 West Ham

Manchester City scream for a handball as it looks to strike Aaron Cresswell's arm, but VAR says no.

City are absolutely battering West Ham now, this could be four, five, or six.

Three is enough, though. They are 20 minutes from a historic fourth consecutive Premier League title.

16:32, 67'

HIT THE POST! Arsenal 1-1 Everton

Oh, Kai Havertz comes so close to putting Arsenal ahead.

He leaps brilliantly to meet a cross, but his header smashes back off the post.

It's just not the Gunners' day...

16:30, 66'

Man City 3-1 West Ham

It's just not Erling Haaland's day in front of goal...

Phil Foden fires a brilliant low cross into his path and he strikes it well, but the ball is blocked well.

Moments later, he looks set to meet the ball from a corner but somehow misses it.

16:28, 64'

CHANCE! Arsenal 1-1 Everton

I just went 'OHHHH' as Dominic Calvert-Lewin unleashes a fantastic bending effort.

It looks destined for the top corner, but David Raya leaps across and gets a hold of the ball with both hands.

16:26, 62'

Arsenal 1-1 Everton

The change in mood at the Emirates is obvious, they know their title dream is slipping away.

Can Arsenal at least give them some joy with a winner?

16:23, 59'

GOAL!!! Man City 3-1 West Ham (Rodri 59')

RELIEF AROUND THE ETIHAD!

Rodri always comes up trumps for Manchester City and he has scored a massive goal right when they needed him.

He is fed by Bernardo Silva and squeezes a driven shot under the body of Alphonse Areola.

Pep Guardiola celebrates, they are nearly there!

16:23, 59'

SUBSTITUTION: Arsenal 1-1 Everton

This does not look good for Gabriel.

He lands awkwardly on his shoulder and he has done some real damage.

This is a huge blow for Arsenal as he is having to come off for Oleksandr Zinchenko.

16:20, 56'

Arsenal 1-1 Everton

It feels like there is more belief 9in the Emirates than there is in the Etihad.

The Arsenal fans are roaring their side on every time they go forward, they know they need this second as soon as possible.

However, Everton are looking dangerous on the counter.

16:19, 55'

YELLOW CARD: Arsenal 1-1 Everton (Doucoure)

The Emirates jumps up as Gabriel goes down after a coming together with Abdoulaye Doucoure.

The latter does get a yellow and that's all it warrants. It was very silly, though.

16:16, 52'

Arsenal 1-1 Everton

Oh, that was so nearly the moment for Kai Havertz.

He looks like he is through on goal, but Jarrad Branthwaite does enough to put him off, it's brilliant defending.

You would have backed Havertz to score if he did race away.

16:15, 51'

Man City 2-1 West Ham

Phil Foden wants that hat-trick.

He goes for goal from some way out, but you can't blame him. Look what he did with the first goal.

He can't recreate it though and his shot dips over the bar.

16:13, 49'

Man City 2-1 West Ham

The nerves in the Etihad are certainly jangling.

The place is basically silent, you can hear a pin drop. Well, that's until Kevin De Bruyne fires narrowly wide from distance.

That brings a small clap.

16:12, 48'

CHANCE! Arsenal 1-1 Everton

That would have been a perfect start to the second half for Arsenal.

Kai Havertz rises highest to meet Gabriel Martinelli's swinging cross, but he can't challenge the goalkeeper.

He should do better with that.

16:11, 46'

SECOND HALF: Arsenal 1-1 Everton

The Emirates cheers as the Arsenal players make their way back onto the pitch.

It's a huge 45 minutes for the Gunners, they just need to get their job done.

Can they do it?

16:10, 46'

SECOND HALF: Man City 2-1 West Ham

We are back underway at the Etihad.

Can they settle those nerves that crept in just before half-time.

As it stands, they are 45 minutes from the title.

16:09

Arsenal fans conned

Oh dear, these pranks are just not fair.

For some reason, somebody spread a rumour that West Ham had found an equaliser at the Etihad when they hadn't.

A cruel, cruel prank...

16:07

WATCH: Foden on fire

Phil Foden just showed why he is the Premier League Player of the Season.

The second goal may have given Manchester City a cushion at the time, but oh my word, just look at his first.

With the title on the line, the early moments are usually nervy. Not for Foden, he just thumped the ball into the top corner.

A special, special player.

16:02

WATCH: One apiece at the break

A few minutes of madness, and this match came alive.

Idrissa Gana Gueye's opener was a huge blow to the gut of the Gunners, just listen to the silence as it hits the back of the net.

That silence didn't last long, listen to the sudden change in atmosphere as Takehiro Tomiyasu finds the back of the net.

A huge few minutes.

15:59

'City probably needed the half time whistle'

Jack Gaughan, Mail Sport, at the Etihad:

Weird one, City probably needed the half time whistle to blow there. It had already become a carnival in here and that Kudus strike is a little reality check. Akanji and Rodri have copped for a bit of grief from Guardiola, who looked a little agitated even at 2-0.
15:58

'Arsenal should be out of sight'

Ian Herbert, Mail Sport, at the Emirates:

Arsenal should be out of sight with the chances they’ve had but their slim chances of taking the title aren’t being helped by facing a robust Everton side who have defended well, for the best part, and then led when Idrissa Gueye’s free kick was deflected in off Declan Rice’s head. With City’s lead back to one goal, there’s desperation for another Arsenal goal here. More incision in front of goal needed.
15:52

HALF-TIME: Arsenal 1-1 Everton

There goes the whistle, what an end to the half.

The first 40 minutes were pretty flat after news filtered into the Emirates that Phil Foden had scored inside two minutes for Manchester City.

Things then got worse for Arsenal when Idrissa Gana Gueye opened the scoring for Everton.

However, maybe that was what they needed. Takehiro Tomiyasu responded instantly and suddenly optimism returned.

A huge 45 minutes coming up.

15:52

HALF-TIME: Man City 2-1 West Ham

The Etihad doesn't exactly seem happy as the half-time whistle goes.

That's because all of a sudden, Manchester City have a match on their hands.

Phil Foden's brace within the first 20 minutes had the citizens cruising, the title party had started already.

However, Mohammed Kudus's spectacular goal just before the break means the job isn't done yet.

Plenty still to play for.

15:51, 49'

Man City 2-1 West Ham

Did Manchester City get too comfortable?

All of a sudden, West Ham mean business. This time Michail Antonio nearly gets on the end of a cross.

What is happening? I can't believe what is unfolding.

15:49, 48'

Arsenal 1-1 Everton

The Arsenal fans suddenly believe again.

It's amazing what football can do to you, just a few minutes ago they thought this was done.

Actually, they think West Ham have scored another... they definitely have not.

Whoever did that, very naughty!

15:45, 43'

GOAL!!! Man City 2-1 West Ham (Kudus 43')

OH HELLO!

Out of absolutely nowhere, West Ham have a goal back, and what a finish it is by Muhammad Kudus.

The ball pops up into the air and he overhead kicks past Stefan Ortega.

In the space of a few minutes, the title race is back on...

GOAL!!! Arsenal 1-1 Everton (Tomiyasu 44')

Scratch that, Arsenal are level!

That is exactly what the Gunners and the Emirates needed as Takehiro Tomiyasu fires in a brilliant finish from Martin Odegaard's cross.

They run straight back to the halfway line, they are ready to get another.

15:44, 43'

Arsenal 0-1 Everton

The Everton fans are having a party, the Arsenal fans certainly aren't.

All the noise is coming from the away end right now.

15:40, 40'

GOAL!!! Arsenal 0-1 Everton (Gueye 40')

ARSENAL STUNNED!

The Gunners' final day just gets worse, and worse...

Idrissa Gana Gueye fires into the top-right corner from a free-kick via a deflection.

I thought it was a stunner at first, but the deflection takes it away from David Raya who doesn't move.

That may be the title race done and dusted. if it wasn't already...

15:39, 38'

Arsenal 0-0 Everton

What do I know, Gabriel Martinelli is back on.

I must admit, I am slightly surprised considering how hurt he looked when rolling around.

Miraculous recovery.

15:37, 35'

Arsenal 0-0 Everton

Gabriel Martinelli is in a lot of pain, it doesn't look good.

He goes down in the area under a challenge from James Tarkowski, but the Everton man gets the ball.

He does seem to catch Martinelli, though, and I can't see him carrying on going by what I am seeing.

15:35, 31'

BIG CHANCE! Man City 2-0 West Ham

Oh, Josko Gvardiol... stop that!

The Croatian full-back has been delightful to watch of late and he slides a stunning pass through to Erling Haaland.

The striker is racing away, surely he will make it 3-0?

Nope, Alphonse Areola denies him, just about...

15:33, 32'

HIT THE POST! Arsenal 0-0 Everton

So, so close to an opener for Everton.

the Toffes break away on the counter and Arsenal look in real trouble.

The ball comes to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, he jinks inside and then cuts the ball back across the keeper, but his strike hits the post.

Now that would have stunned the Emirates.

15:31, 28'

Man City 2-0 West Ham

I reckon this could be five or six, at this rate.

Now Kevin De Bruyne comes close with a smashing effort that flies just wide of the post.

We know he can hit them, so you can't blame him for letting fly.

15:30, 29'

Arsenal 0-0 Everton

There is a break in play at the Emirates, and I must say, it['s as flat as a pancake.

It must be so tough for those Arsenal players, they have lost all the zip they had in the early moments.

Whatever is happening at the Etihad, they just need to play their game.

15:28, 24'

SITTER! Man City 2-0 West Ham

WOW! I am speechless...

Somehow, Erling Haalland has missed the ball with the goal gaping from just two yards out.

Julian Alvarez latches onto a long ball and squares it for Haaland to tap home, but under pressure, he just does an air kick.

I can't believe it isn't 3-0...

15:26, 23'

Man City 2-0 West Ham

Jeremy Doku is having a fantastic time in the sun right now.

He is dancing around the West Ham defence at will and once again forces Alphonse Areola into a stop.

You just feel that this could be an absolute battering.

15:25, 24'

Arsenal 0-0 Everton

The news has filtered through to the Emirates and you can hear a pin drop.

They knew today would be a tough task, but Manchester City have dampened their spirits within 20 minutes of the afternoon.

15:21, 18'

GOAL!!! Man City 2-0 West Ham (Foden 18')

THE PARTY HAS STARTED IN MANCHESTER!

Phil Foden does it again, and that's why he is the Premier League Player of the Season.

He latches onto a low-driven cross to side-foot City two goals in front, and that could be that.

The Etihad is rocking... they know history is in the making.

15:20, 17'

GOOD SAVE! Man City 1-0 West Ham

And again, Alphonse Areola foils Jeremy Doku.

The ball is worked over to the Belgian winger and he tries to squeeze the ball in at the near post, but Areola beats it away.

City then come again, but Rodri fires a pinging shot into the side netting.

It's all City!

15:19, 16'

CHANCE! Man City 1-0 West Ham

This is only going one way at the moment.

Alphonse Areola produces a fantastic save to deny Jeremy Doku as he cuts inside to keep it at just the one-goal deficit.

The second is definitely coming...

15:17, 16'

WHAT A SAVE! Arsenal 0-0 Everton

Lovely football and a lovely save!

Gabriel Martinelli does incredibly well to break away, but Jordan Pickford gets down low and produces a huge save to keep everyone in it.

The Gunners are peppering the Everton goal now.

15:16, 14'

BIG SAVE! Arsenal 0-0 Everton

Jordan Pickford comes up big for Everton!

I thought Arsenal were destined to take the lead but Pickford reacts brilliantly as Leandro Troassard's effort is deflected off Seamus Coleman.

Arsenal have certainly turned the pressure up a notch.

15:13, 12'

CHANCE! Arsenal 0-0 Everton

The first big opportunity for Arsenal.

Everton get in a muddle at the back and the ball bobbles into the path of Declan Rice.

Unfortunately for the Gunners, his effort is tame and easy for Jordan Pickford to collect.

15:12

Arsenal 0-0 Everton

Sami Mokbel, Mail Sport, at the Emirates:

That City goal has noticeably dampened the mood here at the Emirates Stadium. Everton fans taunt the home support with chants of ‘you nearly won the league’.

Man City 1-0 West Ham

Manchester City are having a ball, so far.

They are literally just knocking the ball around the West Ham box just waiting for another opportunity.

They are all over the Hammers and are enjoying it too.

15:08, 6'

Arsenal 0-0 Everton

The Emirates has obviously heard what is happening at the Etihad, the atmosphere isn't quite as vibrant now.

It's not over by any stretch, but that's the worst possible start for the Gunners.

They have created a couple of openings, but haven't quite prized open the Everton defence yet.

15:04, 2'

GOAL!!! Man City 1-0 West Ham (Foden 2')

WHAT A START!

You don't hit them much better than that, what a stunning goal from Phil Foden.

He picks up the ball just outside the area and rifles the ball into the top-left-hand corner.

He sprints away in celebration and the Etihad goes bezerk. They could not have wished for a better start.

Arsenal 0-0 Everton

The Emirates is absolutely rocking.

It's already clear how this game is going to go, Arsenal are having all the ball and just need to be patient.

An early goal will certainly settle those nerves...

15:02, 1'

KICK-OFF: Man City 0-0 West Ham

200 miles away in Manchester, there is an air of confidence in the Etihad.

They don't look like they are feeling the pressure whatsoever.

The hosts get this grudge match underway.

15:00, 1'

KICK-OFF: Arsenal 0-0 Everton

I have rarely heard the Emirates as loud as it is right now.

The Gunners huddle for one final time as ‘North London Forever’ blasts out of the speakers.

The stadium then roars as the ball gets rolling. The waiting is over.

14:56

Atmospheres booming at the Emirates and the Etihad

Wow, the atmosphere is incredible in both London and Manchester.

Both teams are going to need their fans to push them all the way today, and so far, they are certainly playing their part.

Now it's time to take care of business, the teams are on their way out.

14:52

Fan thoughts...

Dave, London: Whichever team wins the league respect to Arsenal and City from a Chelsea fan. The two best teams in the country.
Anonymous: There's no way that City will bottle this.
Trevor, UK: Two cup finals, two wins, City Champs.
14:48

Gunners fans in full voice

The Arsenal fans look like they are having an incredible time.

Smiles on faces, arms aloft, chants being sung. The vibe around the Emirates, and inside, is buzzing.

Whatever happens today, the Gunners fans are going to be singing all afternoon long.

Kick-off edging closer

We are now under 20 minutes away from the final day getting underway.

All four sides are going through their final preparations of an incredible season. It's just all gone so quickly.

Can we just press the fast-forward button on life straight to kick-off?

History beckons for Manchester City...

Today could be a historic day for Manchester City.

If they win today, they will become the first team in English top-flight history to win four successive league titles.

It's simply incredible the stranglehold the Citizens have on the Premier League.

Another title today would make it six out of a possible seven.

'Gorgeous day here in Manchester'

Jack Gaughan, Mail Sport, at the Etihad:

There were murmurs of a bug in the West Ham camp doing the rounds earlier but they’re in fairly good shape here, albeit missing Jarrod Bowen with tonsilitis.
Gorgeous day here in Manchester with City fans outside saying nerves are getting the better of them, with Villa (2022) and QPR (2012) still fresh in the memories. Interesting that Guardiola has opted for Doku over Kovacic, which is a tactical switch that alters the dynamic in City’s midfield.
14:31

Blue mist and bananas

There is a proper final-day feel about the atmosphere in Manchester.

Blue flares are being set off, inflatable bananas are being waved in the air, and chants are flowing.

They are used to these situations, the City fans. They are enjoying the final day as they always do.

Mikel Arteta: Saka 'picked up a small muscle injury in training'

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal manager, speaking on Bukayo Saka’s absence, to TNT Sports:

Unfortunately, he picked up a small muscle injury in training and he wasn't available to play. Fortunately, we have some great players, Martinelli steps in and we need to win anyway.
He's been incredibly consistent throughout the season and he's always been available and he was gutted last night when he got that injury.

'Hugely positive mood here at a sun-kissed Emirates'

Ian Herbert, Mail Sport, at the Emirates:

A hugely positive mood here at a sun-kissed Emirates, despite the fact that City are champions-elect. Mikel Arteta has just been cheered out to the commentary position to give an interview. An overwhelming sense that this season is a huge advance on the last, with the Gunners pushing City all the way to the wire. ‘An amazing and historic season,’ the stadium announcer has just called it.
Today’s match programme lists the records Arsenal have set this season. More wins than any other in a 38-game Arsenal league campaign. More goals scored than any other in a 38-game Arsenal campaign. And if Arsenal win today, it will be a 67.3 per cent win percentage for them – the highest of any campaign in the club’s history.

NO Saka for Gunners!

I could imagine a huge sigh coming from the Emirates as the team news came out...

Bukayo Saka has been ruled out of today's final-day decider against Everton with injury.

The winger is normally so strong at recovering, but it seems even he couldn't get fit enough in time for this one.

A monster blow for the Gunners.

Everton Team News - Unchanged

Everton have been flying lately, and Sean Dyche names an unchanged starting 11.

It means Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young start. They will both have a spring in their steps after being offered new contracts this week.

Can this Toffees side defy the odds and win at the Emirates?

14:01

Arsenal Team News - Saka OUT

No Bukayo Saka for Arsenal...

Many were just expecting to see another unchanged line-up for the Gunners today, but they have to make the one.

Saka has not recovered from a knock he picked up away at Manchester United, it seems, so Gabriel Martinelli replaces him.

It's also a big day for Jurrien Timber, who returns to bench, after recovering from a knee injury he picked up on the opening day of the season.

14:01

West Ham Team News - NO Bowen

David Moyes has named his final West Ham starting XI.

There is no room in the side for Jarrod Bowen, who misses out with illness.

He is replaced by Aaron Cresswell, meaning the Hammers could be playing with a back five.

Centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos also returns to the backline.

14:00

Man City Team News - Doku STARTS

Is this the side that will secure Manchester City the title?

Pep Guardiola has made two changes from the side that beat Tottenham in midweek.

Stefan Ortega, as expected, comes in for Ederson, who fractured his eye socket against Spurs.

Jeremy Doku also starts, replacing Mateo Kovacic.

Away sides at the ready

While we will rightly be focused on Arsenal and manchester City, they are not playing each other...

Everton and West Ham, their opponents, have arrived in both London and manchester, respectively.

We are just minutes away form the team news.

Glorious day for it

The weather has treated us today, hasn't it?

I'm looking out my window now and all I can see is London bathed in sunshine.

This is what the final day is all about. It feels like the sun always comes out when its time for the Premier League to come to its conclusion.

Everybody got their sun cream on, and hats at the ready?

A Bowen blow for West Ham?

Will Jarrod Bowen make the trip to the Etihad?

The West Ham winger has been struggling with illness of late, and it is yet to be seen if he has recovered in time for the final day.

If unavailable it will be a huge blow... to Arsenal.

Arsenal arrive for D-Day

Here come the cavalry.

The Gunners have arrived at the Emirates in high spirits for would could be the club's biggest day in 20 years.

What will be going through their head at this time, surely there are some nerves?

Or will it be excitement at the prospect of what today could bring?

Final Day farewell for David Moyes

Today could be emotional for David Moyes and the West Ham fans.

The Hammers' match away at Manchester City will be Moyes's last in charge of the east London side.

It will be the Scot's 262nd match at the helm of the Irons'. He’s won 112, drawn 55, and lost 94 of his previous 261 games.

However, he has never come away with three points in the 15 games he has faced Pep Guardiola in all competitions, losing 11.

Can he sign off with a farewell three points?

Home is where the heart is for City

Look away, Arsenal fans...

The omens just keep on looking good for City, and not so much for the Gunners.

City and the word unbeaten seem to go hand-in-hand.

They are unbeaten in 43 successive home games in all competitions, winning 36, which is a club record.

On top of that, they have not lost at the Etihad this season, winning 13 of their 18 matches at home.

It's tough to see that run being ended anytime soon.

Arsenal are seen REHEARSING their Premier League trophy presentation

Do Arsenal know something we don't know?

The Gunners have been seen rehearsing a Premier League trophy presentation, just in case they finish on top of the pile by the end of the day.

Final Day Flashback: Aguerooooooooo!

We all know exactly where we were when Sergio Aguero netted that infamous goal in stoppage time against QPR to snatch City the title in 2012.

It is one of those all-time great Premier League moments.

All hope seemed lost for City heading into additional time, Manchester United had all but secured another Premier League title.

Then came madness. Edin Dzeko, first, and then Aguero. Pandemonium.

If we get drama like this today, I am all for it.

Fans arriving in Manchester and London

The excitement has just ramped up a notch.

The buzz around the Etihad and the Emirates is starting to build as fans arrive at the stadiums ahead of a monumental day.

Nerves will be jangling amongst, many of the supporters, I'm sure of it.

Everton Emirates hoodoo

One thing that can bring some optimism to Arsenal is that they love facing Everton at the Emirates.

The Toffees, however, hate a trip to the Gunners.

They have only won once in the league at the Emirates since it was opened in 2006, and that came in the fashion of a 1-0 victory in 2021.

That was their first league win away at Arsenal since 1996.

Surely these stats make you feel better, Gunners fans, right?

DANNY MURPHY: The English game needs Arsenal to triumph

It's clear to see who former Liverpool man, Danny Murphy, is rooting for today.

Murphy has expressed his concerns at Manchester City's dominance continuing beyond this season if they win four in a row.

They just can't stop winning English football's top prize, and who knows when they will. Maybe today?

Can Moyes do his former player a favour?

Imagine your old boss having to come in and save the day for you to be successful in your current job...

Well, that is essentially the situation Mikel Arteta is in right now.

David Moyes brought Arteta to Everton and managed him for six years before the Spaniard moved to Arsenal.

Arteta has to be hopeful the bond is still strong as he needs Moyes' West Ham side to upset the apple cart at Manchester City.

He would be forever indebted to him if he does.

20 years on, can Arsenal do it again?

It's been 20 years since Arsenal last got their hands on the Premier League title.

They have had their ups and their downs since then, but this current crop of players have the chance to go down as Gunners greats today.

Their destiny may not be in their own hands, but it's not over until it's over.

I'm sure some of 'The Invincibles' in the photo will be in attendance today.

Premier League Player of the Season: Phil Foden

Phil Foden, what a star he has become.

There has been a positive buzz around the Manchester City camp in the last week.

First, they beat Tottenham to come within touching distance of the title, and then the magical maestro Foden was crowned Premier League Player of the Season.

It's richly deserved too, he has been spellbinding throughout the season. Scoring and providing goals left, right, and centre.

Can he finish his best individual campaign yet with a bang?

12:29

They've been here before...

History is certainly on the side of Manchester City.

As has been previously mentioned, they know what they are doing, this is not their first rodeo.

City have been involved in the last four title deciders in 2012, 2014, 2019, and 2022. They won all four of them.

Liverpool fans know what it's like to be in Arsenal's position, they were on the painful end of the last three.

The hopes will be high on the blue side of Manchester.

Pep Guardiola: 'We have to live it and enjoy it'

Pep Guardiola, Manchester City boss, speaking on Friday:

Everybody knows what we are playing for. None of us will get the chance to win four in a row again, it is impossible. It won’t happen again in our life. We have to live it and enjoy it.
That’s wrong (we are not unbeatable). (Look at) the margins. If every season we won by 20 points I’d say yes, I’m a genius, I’m so good, but it’s not (like that). The Premier Leagues we won against Liverpool, they could have won. Arsenal could win.

Mikel Arteta: 'I’m very optimistic'

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal manager, speaking on Friday:

It’s one of the biggest weeks for many of us, and certainly now is the most important moment. I’m really excited and can't wait for Sunday to be in front of us, and I’m very optimistic with the possible outcome.
We are in the last day of the season playing for the Premier League. The Premier League trophy hasn't been at Emirates Stadium and that was built almost 20 years ago, so that's a long, long time. So yes, we have to be very optimistic. We have to do our duties, and then we have to wait and see what happens.
We have to do our job which is going to be tough because Everton are in a really good moment, so we're going have to prove again that we can be better than the opponent and win the game. Then we have to wish for the best and for West Ham to have a really good day and help us to fulfil our dream.

How it stands going into the final day

37 games have passed and only two points separate the sides.

It's plain and simple. Manchester City win, they are the Champions.

However, if they draw, and Arsenal win, the Gunners will be champions on goal difference.

If Arsenal fail to beat Everton, regardless of anything that happens at the Etihad, they will finish in second place.

As long as the goals are flying in, the standings can keep on changing.

12:09

Gunners waiting in the wings to pounce

Arsenal are in no shape out of this title race.

There is a reason it has gone to the final day, that is because Mikel Arteta's side have not allowed Manchester City a second to breathe.

All they can do is get the job done at home to Everton today and hope that their fellow Londoners do them a favour.

Just like in midweek, though, I'm not particularly sure the Hammers fans want to help them out.

Anything is possible in the Premier League...

City at home to the Hammers

One more win, that is all Manchester City need.

They have been here before, they know what it takes. They have won it on the final day with ease, and with hardship, but it is always the same result.

West Ham are standing in the way of a fourth consecutive Premier League title.

No team has ever won four on the bounce, not even Sir Alex Ferguson's great Manchester United teams of the past.

City love to create history, is more inbound today?

It all comes down to this…

Nine months, 37 games, ecstasy, agony, and every other emotion you can think of. It all comes down to today - the final day.

Manchester City and Arsenal have gone hammer and tong all season in a bid to get their hands on the Premier League title. One of them will be lifting it in just a few hours.

City are in pole position, they lead the Gunners by two points as they hunt down a record fourth consecutive league title. All they need to do is beat West Ham, and it’s theirs.

Any slip-up from Pep Guardiola’s men, though, and Arsenal will be ready to pounce. They face Everton at the Emirates.

Strap yourselves in everyone, it’s going to be a bumpy ride… and I can’t wait for it to get underway.

Let’s get this show on the road!
