Australian professional golfer Jason Day has hilariously been caught swearing at the PGA Championship by a hot mic, as he strongly reacted to a poor tee shot.

Starting on the sixth hole - a par four - at Valhalla Golf Club on Sunday, the 36-year-old Day hit a tee shot at 156 mph with an apex of 134 ft, but the ball traveled fairly wide from its intended target.

'Good job on breaking down this hole and the extreme challenge it poses. A lot of it has to do with the fairway. You can't just let it rip. You gotta play for the position off the tee...' a play-by-play announcer for ESPN said before the hot mic delivered the funniest moment of the tourney's final day.

'W***er!' a frustrated Day bemoaned after his swing.

The 2015 PGA Championship winner entered hole No. 6 at 7-under, eight shots back of Xander Schauffele.

Jason Day was far from being happy with his tee shot at hole No. 6 at Valhalla Golf Club on Sun.

He was tied 38 in Kentucky with four other players, including Max Homa, at the time.

The first round, he shot even at 71.

In round two, he stepped up his game to avoid the cut and shot four-under to be in the third and fourth rounds.

In the third round, Day shot 69 and is one under through five holes on Sunday.

Unlike his compatriot Cameron Smith, who joined LIV in 2022, Day is still a member of the PGA Tour. He's been a member of the Tour since 2006.
