After winning the PGA Championship on Sunday at Valhalla Golf Club, Xander Schauffele will pocket $3.3million, as the event raised its first-place prize money by $1million this year.

Schauffele's birdie putt on the final hole of the tournament raised the money he left Kentucky with by nearly $1.4million, as second-place finisher Bryson DeChambeau won $1.998million for his six-under-par effort on Sunday.

Each of the top three finishers becomes a millionaire from this event alone, as Viktor Hovland won $1.258million.

The total purse from the PGA Championship is the largest in the event's history at $18.5million, with every player making at least $22,100 for completing 72 holes.

Every single player with a top-10 finish is taking home more than half-a-million bucks.

Every golfer finishing in the top 31 places earned at least $100,000 from their weekend in Louisville.

The Masters had a total purse of around $20million, giving golf's next major a slightly smaller amount for total winnings.

Scottie Scheffler, who won $521,418 for finishing in a tie for eighth place, won $3.6million for winning a green jacket.

The odd part for Scheffler is winning the Masters was only his third highest payout of the season. He won $4.5million at the Players Championship and $4million at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Collin Morikawa and Thomas Detry earn $814,000 each for finishing in a tie for fourth place.
