Alyssa Farrah Griffin revealed today that she was the victim of domestic violence in a past relationship as she defended Cassie Ventura for not leaving Diddy after the 2016 beating that was caught on surveillance video.
Speaking on Monday's episode of The View, Griffin said she 'was a victim of domestic abuse in a prior relationship' and she was one of the 'lucky ones' because she was able to leave.
She did not name her attacker, but said: 'Part of this conversation I've seen since this video emerged is this question of why didn't she leave?' She said, 'And I want to speak to that.'
'I once was a victim of domestic abuse in a prior relationship. It happened once.
'I was one of the lucky ones where the power dynamics were in my favor that I could leave. I could walk away and remove myself from him. In the vast majority of cases that's not the case. They use financial abuse to keep you, emotional manipulation.'

In Cassie's case with Diddy, she said: 'Add to this this is a multimillionaire, incredibly powerful person, there's an entire industry of making money off him. She had no hope to get away from him.'
Griffin did not name the former partner or give any more details on the alleged abuse. She is currently married to Justin Griffin, who she wed in 2021.
She worked for Mike Pence and as a member of Donald Trump's communications team before resigning in 2020 and has been married to her husband Justin Griffin for two years.

The shocking surveillance footage of Diddy violently attacking Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016 emerged last week.
The video, obtained by CNN, shows the rapper shirtless with a towel wrapped around his waist, chasing Cassie down the hall at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City.
As she tried to get into an elevator, he grabbed her by the back of the head and slammed her to the ground.
He then kicked her as she lay on the floor motionless, before grabbing the two designer bags she'd tried to escape with.
Diddy stood over her, kicked her again, and then dragged her back to their room by the hoodie.
Cassie claimed in a since-settled lawsuit that Diddy had paid the same hotel $50,000 for the footage after the attack.
