Donald Trump's hush money trial on Monday was rocked but an unexpected reference to his daughter Tiffany Trump - about a stunning disclosure involving an apparent blackmail just weeks before election day in 2016.

At the time, Tiffany Trump was a relatively low-key member of the Trump family.

She appeared with her farther at the 2016 Republican convention, but didn't have the same public profile as half brothers Donald Trump, Jr., Eric Trump, and half sister Ivanka Trump.

Ivanka Trump would later join her father at the White House, and Don Jr. and Eric helped run the Trump Organization while Trump was president.

Blanche pressed witness Michael Cohen during cross-examination on Monday about the apparent 'extortion' attempt involving the president's daughter.

The reason: to establish that Cohen had multiple reasons to be speaking with Donald Trump during a critical period, beyond the Stormy Daniels matter that he testified about.

'You agree with me, right, that you had a lot going on both in your personal life and with President Trump in those first two weeks of October?' Blanche asked.

Cohen agreed.

'You recall on October 25th, you recall her communicating with you concerns about somebody trying to blackmail her?' Blanche asked. 'Yes sir,' Cohen responded.

He handled it immediately, and spoke to David Pecker, Tiffany Trump, and others, he testified.

This is the day after he testified he spoke to Trump about the payoff to the porn star using the phone of Keith Schiller, Trump's longtime security chief. But Blanche had earlier pointed out that the date of the call coincided with prank phone calls Cohen was receiving from a 14-year old, based on Cohen's texts with Schiller.

Blanche also called it a 'potential extortion attempt' involving photos, during a dramatic day in court where Cohen admitted to stealing $60,000 from Trump.

Blanche then pointed out that Trump was preparing for an opening ceremony of his new D.C. hotel on October 26th. That gave him multiple subjects he could have spoken to Trump about during a phone call where Blanche last week accused Cohen of 'lying' about what came up.

'So was fixing Tiffany Trump's situation important to you?' Blanche asked him.

'It was important I take care of things but it was not personally important to me,' he responded.

'Wouldn't that be something you updated her father about when you spoken the next morning?' Blanche asked.

'No sir,' was Cohen's reply.

It was the only mention of Tiffany Trump in the month-long trial. Eric Trump and Don Jr. have each appeared with their father inside Manhattan criminal court, as did Eric's wife, Lara, a cochair of the Republican National Committee.

Tiffany Trump has kept her low profile since graduating from Georgetown University Law School in 2020.

She met her now husband Michael Boulos in 2018 at Lindsey Lohan's beach club in Greece. He proposed to her in the White House Rose Garden in 2021, and they got married at Mar-a-Lago the following year.

Tiffany's X profile highlights her academic achievements, mentioning her Georgetown law degree. It says she was President of Cyberlaw Society, a legal club, and mentions a law professor, as well as her undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania, which her father also attended.

It wasn't immediately clear what legal work she has performed since completing law school.

Her Instagram page features photos from her glamorous wedding, and features numerous images of her father and siblings. There are also several images from inside the White House.
