New polling shows President Biden trailing Donald Trump in two key battleground states with less than six months to go before the general election.

The ex-president is polling at 52 percent in Arizona to Biden's 47 percent according to the latest CBS News poll. Trump also leads Biden 54 percent to 45 percent in Florida among likely voters, the CBS News poll found.

The polling is the latest in a series of swing state polls that have been bad news for the Democratic president as the election is expected to be decided in just over a handful of crucial swing states come November.

Biden won Arizona in 2020 by less than 11,000 votes or less than 0.5 percent.

Trump won Florida in the last election by just over 3 percent, but he now leads Biden there by nine points in the latest poll despite the Biden campaign eyeing the ex-president's adopted home state and arguing it's in play in 2024.

The Arizona poll shows Biden is leading among women at 51 percent to Trump's 43 percent. But Trump is leading among men 56 percent to Biden's 49 percent.

Biden leads among voters ages 18 to 44 but Trump leads among voters 45 and up.

Trump and Biden were also split with 49 percent each among Hispanic voters in the state.

In Florida, Trump has an edge with both men and women voters. He also is leading among Hispanic voters 52 percent to Biden's 47 percent.

The CBS News polling comes as both Florida and Arizona could have abortion measures directly on the ballot come November.

In both states, the majority of likely voters said they would vote for the constitutional right to an abortion including 65 percent of voters in Arizona and 60 percent in Florida.

While Trump nominated three of the Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe v Wade ending the constitutional right to an abortion nationwide, only 39 percent of Arizona voters and 35 percent of Florida voters blame Trump for the landmark decision being overturned.

Protecting the right to an abortion has been an issue Biden is running on, but the polling signals it does not help him come November. While abortion is an important issue, it was not the top issue.

The top three issues in both Arizona and Florida were the economy and inflation as well as the state of democracy.

The border ranked fourth and abortion sixth among likely voters in Arizona. The border ranked fifth and abortion seventh in Florida.

When it comes to the election in Arizona, the CBS News poll also found that while the vast majority of likely voters would accept the outcome of the election no matter who wins - less than half of likely Trump voters said the same.

82 percent of Biden voters aid they would accept the results, but only 47 percent of Trump voters did and 47 percent said they would challenge the results if Biden won.

While Biden is trailing Trump in both key states according to the poll, both states also have competitive Senate races which could split from the top of the ticket.

In Arizona, Democratic candidate Ruben Gallego leads Republican Kari Lake by double digits 49 percent to 36 percent according to the CBS News poll.

In Florida, Republican Senator Rick Scott has a lead in the Senate race.. He is polling at 45 percent while Debbie Mucarsel-Powell is at 37 percent. 12 percent said they were unsure in the race.
