Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese has appeared in a heartwarming TikTok alongside his filmmaker daughter Francesca.

In the clip, the pair give viewers a tour of their family home, while acting out a version of the popular 'I'm a... Of course...' trend of TikToks.

In a playful video, Francesca starts off the tour in a hallway full of movie posters.

'We're movie lovers - of course we have film posters all over our house,' she says with a smile, only for her A-lister dad to intervene from out of sight.

'Now do that again. It has to have more…' 81-year-old Scorsese jokes, directing his own daughter while standing around the corner.

He instructs her: 'You're proud of these posters. You're happy to have these posters,' in the hope Francesca can deliver the line in a second take with oomph.

'Of course we have film posters all over our house,' she says, shouting enthusiastically while walking along a black and white marble tiled floor.

'That's too big! Take it down. Sort of in between,' Scorsese shouts out, unable to curb his directing instructions, even for his own daughter.

'Dad… it's a TikTok!' Francesca says nonchalantly.

The TikTok, which has already racked up more than 1.8 million views, is one of a number of videos the father and daughter have appeared in together in recent months - and in the process has introduced him to a whole new generation of would-be fans.

Scorsese has been directing for 56 years having directed his first feature film in 1967.

The lighthearted TikToks show a very different side of the legendary director whose films are known for their haunting and violent themes.

But Francesca appears to have influenced her father to get on social media in order for the public to see a different side of him.

Scorsese now operates his own Instagram account with almost 2 million followers where the public can enjoy seeing him at work while also catching a glimpse of family photos or even his pet dogs.

In the TikTok, Scorsese continues: 'We're movie lovers - so of course we have a couple of cameras around anyway,' he says taking the time to show off an old fashioned movie camera.

The camera is a Hollywood early 20th century movie camera with four lenses set upon a sturdy wooden tripod.

'We're movie lovers - of course we have a director's chair,' Francesca says next, this time showing off typical director's chair with the Scorsese name emblazoned on the back.

A baseball cap with the family name embroidered on the side can be seen hanging off the back.

'We're movie lovers - so of course we have TCM, all the time', Scorsese shows off in his home movie theater playing a classic black and white film on the popular Turner Classic Movies channel.

'We're movie lovers - of course we have a DVD player', Francesca says cheekily showing off some DVDs tongue in cheek, while holding up copies of the 1962 film Il Sorpasso (titled The Easy Life in English), the 1956 American drama Bigger Than Life and a copy of the 1964 Bernardo Bertolucci movie, Before the Revolution.

'We're movie lovers - so of course we have some movie memorabilia around', Scorsese says in the next scene as he takes viewers from a room with a bookcase stacked to the brim, across to a shelf stacked with other trinkets.

'Like these...  the original red shoes from the film The Red Shoes 1949 - but right now they're loaned out to exhibition somewhere. Sorry!' Scorsese says, gesturing toward an empty display case.

'We're movie lovers - so of course we're gonna tell you what cinema really is', Francesca adds, before cutting to a testy shot of Scorsese eyeing up the camera.

'We're movie lovers - so of course we have things from movies like automaton from Hugo,' Scorsese says as he shows off the famous model from the 2011 film that he directed.

The film received 11 Academy nominations that year, including Best Picture, while Scorsese received a Golden Globe for Best Director.

'We're movie lovers - of course it's impossible to choose a favorite filmmaker', Francesca says rounding out the clip showing off a friend who can be seen wearing a t-shirt with plasters with Scorsese's face.

The TikTok gave fans insight into the wildly popular director's home décor,  and showed off a bit of his personality - when he's not behind the camera.

'Never thought Martin Scorsese directing a TikTok would be in our 2024 bingo card but I’m here for it,' one viewer commented.

'He’s Martin Scorsese, OF COURSE he’s going to direct a TikTok to perfection!' said another.

The clip even caught the eye of TCM's TikTok, who penned: 'We’re movie lovers, so of course we’re big fans of Francesca and her dad!'
