Nicole Brown Simpson's sisters have broken their silence nearly three decades after her murder for a new Lifetime documentary.
The Life & Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, which premieres on June 1, will explore the life and horrific 1994 murder of the mother-of-two, known for her turbulent relationship with OJ Simpson, who was controversially acquitted of her killing.
Her sisters Tanya, 54, Dominique, 59, and Denise, 66, spoke to PEOPLE to share why they have decided to speak out three decades after the world first became enthralled by the case.
'We decided 30 years was probably the best and the last time to hear her voice and tell her story,' Denise said.
Tanya added: 'She’s not a dead body covered with a white sheet at the bottom of the stairs. That’s not Nicole.

'We want people to see this beautiful human being.'
Although Simpson was acquitted of the murders of Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, he was found liable in a wrongful-death civil lawsuit filed by the Brown and Goldman families in 1997.
Denise highlighted the fact that her sister's murder sparked change by inspiring The Violence Against Women Act.
'She is the root behind a lot of change. Unfortunately it took my sister’s life to make it happen,' Denise told the magazine.
When asked how they like to remember Brown Simpson, who was 35 when she died, Tanya said: 'Dancing in heaven. That’s what she’s doing.'
The documentary will show how Brown Simpson endured abuse at the hands of her husband for years before her murder.

Simpson died at the age of 76 in Las Vegas in April from cancer.
Tanya previously spoke to UK magazine about her older sister's tumultuous relationship with the fallen football star.
The author and motivational speaker opened up about the gruesome murders and said although she had forgiven the footballer star, she would never forget.
She said: 'OJ was like a brother to me, but I know he did it. Over time, I've forgiven him, as I feel it's the only way to move forward - but I'll never forget.'

At Simpson's controversial 1995 murder trial - often dubbed the trial of the century - police claimed they found a blood-soaked sock near the bed in his murdered ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson's home.
DNA analysis indicated that some of that blood came from OJ – purportedly placing the former football star at the scene of the crime.
Tanya added that she had tried to put the tragic killing behind her and was more focused on her older sibling's legacy.

It was previously reported that Simpson had been battling prostate cancer and undergoing chemotherapy
OJ and Nicole married in 1985 and welcomed daughter Sydney Brooke, now 39 that year and son Justin, 36, in 1988.
In 1989, the former football player pleaded no contest to a domestic violence charge against Simpson. The couple divorced in 1992.
The children were just eight and five at the time of their mother's murder and asleep in the home when their mother was stabbed to death on June 12, 1994 alongside Goldman, who was 25.
