The post, which was shared earlier this week, was titled: 'My husband and I started selling our sex videos to pay for our daughter's medical bills.'
Providing further context in the comments, the woman, who has a 10-year-old son as well as her seven-month-old daughter, explained their motivations.
'The short story is [the baby] doesn't like eating.
'She was a failure-to-thrive baby, had two nasogastric tubes and now has a gastrostomy tube, and we still have no idea why she doesn't like eating.
'She sees a feeding therapist, gastro, dietitian and regular pediatrics. She has had three hospital stays, two ER visits and weekly appointments for her entire life. The bill is over $20,000.
'We lost our first daughter shortly after birth and we will do whatever it takes to keep this one alive.'
The mom admitted she works in a hospital pharmacy and had not previously acknowledged 'the ramifications of our healthcare system,' adding: 'But being on the other end of it now is how I finally saw how f**ked up our system actually was...
'We're fully insured through my husband's job but a lot of the therapies and needs aren't covered by a lot of insurances.

'The state does have medical assistance, but we make something like $100 too much to qualify for the assistance programs.
'We have applied several times, even telling them she's special needs, disabled, etc, and they keep declining us. It's disgusting and horribly frustrating.'
The woman explained that the couple 'sends videos via Telegram and uses Cashapp and Venmo for payment' - with prices starting at just $5.
'We have made a few bucks - not enough to put a dent in her bills yet, but we have definitely made some money,' she shared.
'We don't really have a goal in mind. We're still seeing doctors and costs are still going up... so we are just doing what we can.'
Discussing the efforts she and her husband go to to remain anonymous, she said: 'We don't show our faces, and we cover tattoos that are visible. '
However, she also admitted that the couple had been able to find some joy in it.
'It's actually really fun! And we are learning a lot about what we like and ourselves through this journey!' the mom revealed.
Unsurprisingly, the post was flooded with comments - with readers largely in support of the couple's risque decision.

One wrote: 'I wish you guys all the best - hope this doesn't put a strain on your relationship. Life is hard.
'Don't feel any shame of it. You're doing no harm to anyone - you're paying for a kid. Don't feel ashamed.'
Another added: 'No questions here, just respect for the hustle.'
A third asked: 'Do you feel angry that the US healthcare system has made you do this, while billionaires get richer every day?'
Someone else said: 'Look I don't wanna shame anybody. I'm not judging and you guys do whatever you want.
'I totally get it, and maybe I would do the same if I was in your situation. But what kind of dystopian f***ing nightmare do we live in that you have to sell your own f*** tapes to fund your daughter's medical care?
'It's so f***ing depressing to me that this is the system we have.'
