Social media influencer Halley Kate has closed on her new home in The Hamptons following a rocky few months following her assault in Manhattan.
The 23-year-old New York City-based influencer announced in a video she posted on TikTok and Instagram two days ago that she bought a house in the luxurious haven out east.
Even though Kate had been working on The Hamptons home deal since February, she revealed in a second TikTok video that she will keep her NYC apartment, rumored to cost $7,000-a-month.
'This is my house. I bought this with my own money... I'm not leaving New York City. I'm just spending my summers out here,' Kate said in her second video.
Kate's property purchase came just two months after she made headlines for getting punched in the face while walking near West 16th and 7th Avenue in Manhattan.
Halley Kate, 23, announced in a TikTok and Instagram video that she closed on a house in The Hamptons on May 20
While she has not revealed the exact cost of her home, similar homes in the area are priced just under $1M.
Born Halle Kate McGookin, the influencer regularly posts social media content and currently has over one million followers on TikTok.
She couldn't hide her joy while finalizing her home purchase, sharing the moment on social media
Kate was handed the keys right after she signed the final paperwork, and she later popped a bottle of champagne in her property's yard to celebrate.
The influencer also added clips of her dogs, a peek into the house's second floor and kitchen, and a snippet of her painting one of the walls.
Kate also added a clip of her kissing her boyfriend Reed Williams on the beach, just before he threw her over his shoulder.
More than one TikToker had questions about Kate's home purchase, which led her to state some facts in her second video.
Kate had been working on The Hamptons home deal since February, she revealed in a second TikTok video that she will keep her NYC apartment, rumored to cost $7,000-a-month
Kate said the lengthy home buying process was 'all 100 percent worth it' and that she was thrilled to move in.
According to the influencer, the biggest question TikTokers asked her was why she decided to buy a house in The Hamptons.
'I come out to The Hamptons and spend a weekend at least once a month, usually during the summer, and that adds up,' she said.
'It is so expensive out here, and I was like "Why am I literally paying a mortgage in hotels, renting a car, paying for my dog sitter, just for one weekend.'
Kate went on to say that she had always wanted to buy a place in The Hamptons and that it seemed like a good investment.
She added that she fell in love with the house right away and that she would be making changes to the property so that it fits her taste.
Kate then answered the question of how she would be going from NYC to The Hamptons - by driving her newly purchased Land Rover.
NYC realtor Caroline Walker took to TikTok in a video of her own, giving curious followers an idea of how much money Kate might spend every month on housing.
Kate said the lengthy home buying process was 'all 100 percent worth it' and that she was thrilled to move in
According to the real estate agent, just under $1.5 million for a house in The Hamptons is 'a good middle of the road price.'
Walker explained that if Kate had purchased a property worth this much, she would've spent $298,000 if she had put 20 percent down.
She added that Kate's principal and interest rates would come out to around $7,900 a month, and the influencer would also have to pay $1,000 a month in property taxes and less than $100 monthly for homeowners insurance.
If Kate bought her home for that much, then her grand monthly total for the house in The Hamptons is $8,924 a month.
That, combined with her NYC apartment, would cost Kate nearly $16,000 a month for rent and mortgage payments.
Walker referred to this as 'a pretty good basic example,' but that she has no knowledge of Kate's finances, nor is she a financial expert.
TikTokers have congratulated Kate on her house purchase, speculating on Reddit which Hamptons home might belong to her
'I am almost positive that the beach clip at the end of her TikTok was taken at Meschutt Beach because of the jetty and landscape in the background,' a Reddit user wrote.
TikTokers who commented on Walker's video also claimed that Kate purchased the house for $850,000 and that it's in Hampton Bays.
Others who left comments on Kate's second TikTok video praised her for being able to buy a house in The Hamptons, and one person even called her a 'Long Island queen.'
'Congrats! I live in The Hamptons as well. I'll see you this summer,' a TikToker wrote in the comment section yesterday.
