The red carpet is always a place for memorable moments.

And Kelly Rowland made headlines as she appeared to furiously scold a security guard while walking the red carpet at Cannes on Tuesday.

The Destiny's Child singer, 43, was attending the premiere of the French film Marcello Mio, when she launched a verbal dispute with the guard.

She continued the tirade as she walked up the steps and insiders have claimed she 'doesn't care' if she comes across as a diva.

Over the years several celebrities have shown their inner primadonnas at red carpet events - and at times their demands have been hilarious.

From Kendall Jenner hoping to be picture perfect by pushing her assistant out of the way to Mariah Carey demanding her own personal red carpet, film releases and awards ceremonies have never been short of talking points.

Here, FEMAIL reveals how A-listers lost their cool on the red carpet.

Kendall Jenner was determined to get a good photo at the 2018 Met Gala in NYC.

The model, who was wearing a stunning white jumpsuit, was spotted shoving an assistant out of the way on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

And fashion fans were quick to notice as one Twitter used wrote: 'Who does kendall think she is? Did y'all see her push that security guy out of the way!?? #MetGala.'

'Kendall Jenner shows up to the #MetGala in the most bland toilet paper outfit and had the nerve to push one of the handlers out of the way who was just doing his job on the carpet #rude,' wrote another eye-witness.

And one audience member posted: 'Just watched Kendall Jenner push a PA on the livestream I'm watching, but her outfit is toilet paper chic and I'm okay with it.'

However, Kendall later denied she had pushed the security guard and her spokesperson released a statement: 'This is absolutely false.
'Kendall did not push anyone. She simply put her hand up so she was not stepped on.'

Mariah has had more than one diva incident over the years.

In 2005, the Independent reported that Mariah pulled up at a hotel in Knightsbridge expecting a red carpet to be rolled out for her.

Rather than stepping onto the black marble paving, Mariah, who was on a publicity tour to promote a new album, stepped out of her limo onto a plush carpet lined by 2ft-high white candles.

She arrived at the five-star Baglioni hotel at 2.30am in the morning and the outlet reports of the staff members had to be woken up to prepare for her arrival.

Mariah also booked a whopping 15 rooms for three days, costing as much as £2,000 per room per night.

A spokesman for the hotel said at the time: 'It was something we wanted to do. Ms Carey's people did not request it at short notice; we had the carpet down at 11pm.'

Katy Perry arrives in a convertible at the 2018 Met Gala

Katy Perry certainly made an entrance to remember at the 2018 Met Gala as she arrived in a convertible.

Katy didn't hold back while gracing the Met Costume Gala in New York, where she commanded attention with giant feather wings and a short gold dress by Versace.

But the American Idol judge almost didn't make it to the affair celebrating the Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination exhibit, nearly missing the festivities after her classic car stalled en route to the soiree, according to TMZ.

Apparently the starlet's vintage Rolls Royce stalled out about a block away from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Vogue explained why Katy opted for her vintage wheels on their Instagram, writing: '@katyperry couldn’t take a normal car to the #metgala due to her stunning wingspan.

'So she rode in a vintage convertible, giving her nearly six-foot feathered accessories room to flutter. Thankfully the Met’s halls are just as accommodating.'

Though there were a few hiccups before arriving, Katy stepped out of her ride with radiant eight-foot tall wings upon her back.

The starlet, who started her career as a Christian gospel singer, looked like a vision as she surrounded herself with champagne colored feathers, anchored into an elegant gold beaded trim across her shoulders.

Beyonce tells her assistant to get out of her photograph

She's long been known as Queen B. And Beyonce lived up to her nickname as she put her assistant in her place on the red carpet in 2015.

As the singer stood regally on the red carpet, cameras flashed as a hapless helper fussed over her low-cut dress.

Without dropping her megawatt smile for even an instant Beyonce coolly commanded she stop, and get out of her shot.

The power of Beyonce was clear, as the woman instantly fled to stand at a more appropriate distance.

She could then be seen watching as an unruffled Beyonce showed just what a professional she is, posing for the photographers as they shouted 'Queen'.

Hanks, 67, seemingly had a heated interaction with members of staff at the Cannes Film Festival last year.

The actor attended the premiere for his film Asteroid City and while would think he would be overjoyed, he was snapped pointing his finger at a worker.

Hanks was photographed looking frustrated next to his wife Rita Wilson and she was holding her hand up while speaking to the man.

The actor looked uncharacteristically frustrated as he jabbed a finger at the younger man.

Dressed in a tuxedo suit and wearing a bow tie, he could be seen speaking to the pair in what appeared to be an attempt to calm the situation.

However, Tom seemed to remain miffed as the trio spoke before heading down the red carpet to pose for pictures at the event.

Rita then took to Instagram to clear up the claims they were mad at the staff member.

She wrote: 'This is called I can't hear you. People are screaming. What did you say? Where are we supposed to go?'

She added: 'We had a great time! Go and see Asteroid City!'

Hugh Grant's car crash interview with Ashley Graham

Oh dear: Hugh Grant shut down Ashley Graham and rolled his eyes in a red carpet chat

Hugh Grant shut down Ashley Graham and rolled his eyes at her in a red carpet chat branded 'the worst interview ever' at the 95th Annual Academy Awards in Hollywood in March last year.

The actor was not amused as he stepped out to the glitzy Los Angeles event, and openly showed his disdain towards the supermodel's questions.

The Four Weddings and a Funeral star kept his answers to her questions as short as possible and made his blatant disinterest well known in the uncomfortable clip.

Kicking off the chat, bubbly Ashley exclaimed: 'What was it like to be in Glass Onion? How fun is it to shoot something like that?'

But she was met with a cringeworthy response: 'Well I'm barely in it, I was in it for about three seconds,' Hugh quipped.

'It still must have been fun though, you had fun right?' Ashley said as she powered through the one-sided chat.

'Erm... almost,' the actor replied as he looked away.

Grinning and bearing the interview, the model asked: 'What are you wearing?' While Hugh offered an insightful: 'My suit.'

Viewers at home were left feeling rather embarrassed over the exchange, as they praise Ashley for how she handled the difficult situation and said the moment was 'the worst' since Will Smith's infamous slap of Chris Rock at the 2022 ceremony.

'That made me want to crawl under a stack of chairs,' one person penned.

Amy Schumer diving in front of Kim and Kanye

Amy Schumer decided to 'photobomb' Kim and Kanye - only to be ignored

At the 2015 Time 100 Gala in New York City, actress Amy Schumer dramatically threw herself in front of Kim Kardashian and Kayne West on the red carpet.

Dressed in a silk midnight blue gown, the comedian dove right in front of one of the now-divorced duo, who were then one of Hollywood's most powerful couples.

But Kim and Kayne did not look impressed in the slightest and glanced at Amy with blank facial expressions.

Schumer later told People that Kardashian thought it was 'really funny'. She said: 'I saw them, and I asked my publicist, 'Can I dive in front of them and act like I fell?' And she said, 'I can't stop you.'

'I talked to them. They were like, 'What?' Kim was worried for me, and I think Kanye was just, like, scared that I was doing something.

'They were really sweet. Kim was really funny. She goes, 'Oh my god, I was like, does this girl need help?' She was like, 'That was really funny.'

Laverne Cox could be seen behind the group on the red carpet laughing at the entire incident.

Also getting a laugh out of Schumer's pratfall was Kardashian's bodyguard Pascal Duvier, who could be seen giggling at the prank.

Speaking on the Graham Norton show, Schumer said: '[I saw] Kim and Kanye standing there, just owning it, just being short and important.

'And I think falling is the funniest thing, so I took a dive in front of them. He did not crack a smile at any point.

'There's no way that either of them had any idea who I am. So that was comforting.'

Jerry Seinfeld denied Kesha's three requests for a hug during a very awkward exchange on the red carpet back in 2017.

The Tik Tok pop star approached the then 63-year-old while he was being interviewed at the National Night of Laughter and Song event at the Kennedy Center.

'I'm Kesha I love you so much, can I give you a hug?' Kesha asked at the Washington, DC event.

'No thanks,' Seinfeld replied.

She tried two more times, but his reply remained the same and she quickly ran off in embarrassment.

'I don't know who that was,' Seinfeld admitted.

£100,000 on a night out, moody A-listers and how to get into exclusive parties: STEPHANIE TAKYI reveals what really goes on behind the scenes at Cannes

Now in its 77th year, the Cannes Film Festival is regarded as one of the most iconic and prestigious events on the showbiz calendar. It is known to attract the biggest Hollywood stars, the top models and influencers to indulge in a star-studded life on a famous stretch of beach called the Croisette.

The Croisette comes alive at night with multi-million-pound glamorous parties taking place in lavish hotels, exclusive clubs, villas and beaches – who all are vying to be the most talked about in town.

Socialite Lady Victoria Hervey knows the Cannes scene all too well having been a regular VIP attendee at the annual festival for over 20 years.

She says there’s no price tag too much to pay to get into an A-list party. ‘I think people like to show off because they’ve got the money. They come here and will literally blow £100,000 on events and they don’t care because they have their yachts and their private planes.’

Lady Victoria Hervey said it's not uncommon for Cannes revellers to drop £100,000 on a night out

Lady Victoria Hervey said it's not uncommon for Cannes revellers to drop £100,000 on a night out

‘It’s not really the place for the ordinary consumer as it’s definitely for the super wealthy because for them it makes no difference to what they spend in their day-to-day life,’ Lady Victoria tells me on board the RH Three.

Having been in demand as a guest at most A-list parties, Lady Victoria says: ‘To get into any event, especially in Cannes, you have to be super confident and act like you own it. Go straight to the front of the line, with no hesitation because as soon as you hesitate, you're going to have issues.’

She adds: ‘The secret is you've got to get there early because if you're going to arrive late, you better come with someone's super famous in order to be let in.’

Indeed, from my time here at the Croisette, I see that both the rich and famous want visibility at the Cannes Film Festival. For Hollywood actress and former Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria, it’s the attention it can bring to her annual Global Gift Gala, which this year took place at La Môme Plage.

‘It's our 10th time here in Cannes. We love doing the Cannes Global Gift Gala because it's such a worldly, global festival,’ says Longoria. ‘We get our supporters from all over the world descending upon the Croisette and being so generous with their time and money.

‘We have the greatest impact with our Cannes event because so many people are watching and we can really capitalise on making an impact with new people who don't understand or know what we're doing.’

Such parties like Eva’s comes with an air of exclusivity that only insiders are privy to and at every party there is guaranteed to be a celebrity photographer such as Max Ciscotti, who has been documenting the festival behind the lens since 2016.

‘The Cannes Film Festival is the old school sort of Hollywood glamour, which you can get a little bit more here than in other parts of the world,’ says Ciscotti. He adds: ‘There's a lot of beautiful people to photograph, and at the end of the day as a photographer that's all we want.’

Despite having shot a bank full of picture-perfect moments with A-listers at parties in Cannes, Max admits that behind the scenes it doesn’t always run smoothly with celebrities.

‘We all have our favourite actors or musicians but sometimes doing what we do, you tend to see another side of them - whether it's they're having a bad day or they’re not in the best of moods. With certain people, you see that they're always that way.

‘To begin with I found it very frustrating and disappointing but nowadays I know Leonardo Di Caprio and certain others never want to do pictures unless they are officially there promoting something.’

Recalling one incident, Max reveals: ‘There is one particular female celebrity - she’s quite a famous A-list Hollywood actress and I was the only photographer at the afterparty for her film.

‘I was literally left alone standing with this young lady and, obviously, you know, the natural thing is you try and make conversation. I said, “Can I just get a quick solo shot?” and she literally just went “no” and turned her back to me. ‘That was a bit disappointing because up until that point, I really liked that actress.’

While the traditional red-carpet picture still holds much value, brands such as Campari, which for a third year is continuing its role as an Official Partner to the Festival de Cannes, have pushed the boat in how it wants its VIP guests to be captured via technology.

They’ve collaborated with Cole Walliser, the Canadian filmmaker and music video director who has become a worldwide online sensation for directing GlamBOT red-carpet celebrity clips.

His videos have gone viral on social media for capturing glamourous slow-motion clips of A-listers – with popular shots including a hair flip from Anya Taylor-Joy and Ariana Grande twirling her dress.

I caught up with him ahead of the Campari Cinémathèque party at Hyde Beach, a show-stopping custom-built event space that has hosted parties during the festival including the Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga after-party.

‘There's just such a push for these candid, authentic moments,’ Cole says. ‘I think half of my content is this sort of behind-the-scenes, candid interaction with talent and that is a thing that people don't get to see that much.’

He adds: ‘I have very little time with the celebrities, I have to figure out what they're willing to do, what they're going to do and how I'm going to shoot it in like, 30 seconds.

‘I try to get a sense for what they want to do and push them in that direction because I always feel that the best-looking footage is the thing that's going be the most natural to them.’

As evening looms, it is fascinating to watch Hyde Beach be transformed into an immersive true-to-life movie experience, with the ground-floor Campari Bar featuring mirrored ceilings and film-set lights dotted along to the Pier, where awaits an overwater jetty with loungers and parasols.

I ask myself if this too much excessive of theatrics for one party, and it appears not as guests and famous faces relish in taking centre stage and becoming the protagonists of their own story. They seem in their natural habitat as they are filmed by a real cameraman, with their images live-streamed onto plasma screens throughout the space.

It’s clear Campari aims for dominance on the Croisette with their sprawling lounge at the Palais des Festival, which is designed in its signature red style and overlooks the famous red carpet.

Tommasso Ceccasa, the Global head of Camparino Licensing & Mixology said that A-listers demand perfection at parties

Here is the home of the aperitivo, and people-watching as it’s a daily occasion for celebrities to come here and enjoy a Negroni or Campari Spritz. Unsurprisingly the VIP taste has been catered for with every drop that is poured into a glass by the some of best mixologist in the world.

Overseeing the slick operation is Tommasso Ceccasa, the Global head of Camparino Licensing & Mixology and says: ‘The cinema is always connected with a good life and the good life means good things and good things mean a cocktail made in a proper way.’
