Jessica Biel has revealed why she and Justin Timberlake now mostly keep their family away from New York and Los Angeles.
The showbiz power couple might be expected to enjoy a bicoastal lifestyle, considering their work obligations in the entertainment industry.
But as they raise their sons Silas, nine, and Phinneas, four, the actress and the singer prefer to spend more of their time in Middle America.
They now own homes in both Montana and Nashville, Tennessee, and increasingly focus on bringing their children up there.
Their goal is to provide a level of 'normalcy' for their sons away from the public eye, Jessica revealed on Let's Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa.

As regards the paparazzi, Jessica noted: 'You get hammered in the East Coast. You kinda get hammered on the West Coast.'
The former 7th Heaven child star explained: 'That’s why we don’t really live there anymore. We’re just trying to create some normalcy for these kids, and we wanna share our family with our loved ones and friends.'
She added that she and Justin 'understand that our job has this major public-facing element, so we understand that part of it.'
Jessica pointed out: 'But also, these kids didn’t choose this. I don’t wanna expose them in a way until they have an ability to make that decision for themself.'
As a result, she does not post pictures of her sons online, though she admitted that 'this very social media world is where they exist and where they live, and that will be a very big part of their life and their reality. I just don’t want it to be on my account.'
The Total Recall actress shared: 'So we try to engage in a way that feels authentic, but also not blasting them all over the place – and no disrespect to anybody who feels comfortable doing that. That’s just our family choice.'
Jessica offered a rare glimpse into her family life when she discussed the way that her eldest son is dealing with the difficulties of growing older.
'He’s experiencing growing pains. He has a hard time sleeping. He’ll be waking up in the middle of the night. His legs hurt. His back hurts,' she said.

'He looks different, right? He went from this little guy to this kind of more grownup kid, and even Justin and I are like: "Wow, this kid is looking different all of a sudden." He’s just growing! It’s so amazing!' continued the proud mother.
Jessica first started dating Justin in 2007, five years after the bitter collapse of his headline-grabbing relationship with Britney Spears.
Justin and Jessica briefly split in 2011 but quickly reunited, and the following year they made it down the aisle in a ceremony in southern Italy.
Their marriage, however, fell under searing scrutiny in November 2019 when Justin was spotted at a New Orleans bar holding hands with actress Alisha Wainwright.
The pair were enjoying their off-hours from shooting a move called Palmer when the public display of affection occurred.
Justin issued an Instagram apology for his 'strong lapse in judgement,' explaining that he 'drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior.'
He wrote on the social networking platform: 'I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be.'
Jessica and Justin presented a united front in the wake of the scandal, laughing and smiling as they surfaced for a romantic stroll together in New York.

In January 2020, an Us Weekly source claimed they were in therapy and that Justin was 'trying his hardest to prove himself' to his wife.
They secretly welcomed little Phineas into the world together that summer, waiting until January 2021 to break the news to the world.
In October 2022, Jessica celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary by revealing that she and Justin had renewed their vows in Italy that summer.
'Being married to you is the adventure of a lifetime!' she wrote on Instagram .'Run it back, baby. RUN IT BACK. I love you.'
Justin, meanwhile, marked the romantic occasion on Instagram by gushing: '10 years ain’t enough! You make me a better husband and father every day! I love you so much you beautiful human! Run it back!'
