Five people were murdered and another was wounded at a grocery store in the resort city of Acapulco on Thursday.
The gunmen arrived at the Dalia handcrafts market around 5:30 pm and opened fire.
Four men and one woman were pronounced dead at the scene, and a man was rushed to a local hospital for treatment to a gunshot wound.
The Guerrero State Attorney General’s Office said in a statement that it was investigating the shooting.
No arrests had been reported as of Friday morning.

In a separate incident Thursday, the bodies of four young men were found dead on a soccer field while two others were found near a high school. All six victims died from gunshots.
The killings followed Monday’s gruesome discovery of 10 corpses that were abandoned across Acapulco streets.
Six bodies were scattered along an avenue near a market Monday night after they were dumped from a vehicle, according to local media reports.
A shootout in the neighborhood of Emiliano Zapata left three people dead while another person was found dead in the resort town.
According to Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, at least 598 homicides have been registered in the Pacific coast state of Guerrero in the first four months of 2024, an average of 3.6 per day.
The state, which has been affected by warring drug cartels, had 1,890 murders in 2023.
