As Taylor Swift is in the midst of her record-breaking worldwide Eras tour, designer Christian Louboutin shared that he made more than 250 pairs of shoes for the production.

Because his shoes generally sell for around $1,000 a pair, the cost must have been $250,000.

Chatting with Vogue this week, the 61-year-old footwear architect dished, 'When working for performers, it’s better to start with a very large number of styles that will end up in a selection of designs which seem the best for the stage.'

It was also shared that he dreamed up 60 new pairs of shoes for the pop star to take on the European leg of her successful tour.

Hundreds of strass crystals were used in the collection and Louboutin noted, 'I’ve learned a few magic tricks to make sure the silhouette still looks great with shoes being 100% easy to perform in.'

He added, 'I learned at Les Folies Bergère [that] lights on stage are very strong and tend to flatten any surface.'

Swift opens the performance with the Lover section, stepping out in the Elenora knee-high boots.

Christian said that the striking heeled boots are visible 'from every seat in the house.'

During another moment in the show, the singer-songwriter models Cate boots.

Shimmer is a main component of the shoes, as the renowned designer explained, 'After all, this is the biggest tour in the world — the girl needs to shine!'

And Louboutin teased that there 'might be more to come' as the popular tour moves forward.

Swift introduced a new section of her concert in early May, after releasing her The Tortured Poets Department album in April.

Along with the addition of songs came new footwear, including a custom pair of booties inspired by archival Louboutin styles.

'Joseph Cassell and Taylor were very instrumental in communicating all the different acts and having shoes that reflect the genre she wore then with an updated modern twist,' Louboutin shared.

Earlier this month, Taylor revealed while performing in Paris that she had been working on The Tortured Poets Department segment of her Eras Tour since last year.

She took a moment during the show to share details with her attentive audience.

'We started planning this surprise for you about eight or nine months ago and then when we got "two months off" of the Eras Tour, we really didn’t take any time off at all.

'We just went directly back into rehearsals. So I’d like to give it up for my crew, my dancers, and my band,' she said during a break in the music.
