An entrepreneur has revealed how he chartered a private jet to bring him a first edition book after splashing out $1.5 million on the rare work, despite his wife's disapproval.
Russell Brunson, 44, is a book-obsessed father of five who spent a month negotiating with the seller of a signed pre-first edition of Napoleon Hill's book The Law of Success.
Although his wife, Collette Brunson, disapproved of him spending so much cash, it didn't stop the Idaho-based father from feeding into his love for rare books.
The serial entrepreneur describes the 1925 tome as 'the holy grail' of entrepreneurial success, and when he spotted it for sale on eBay he knew he had to have it.
After a month of negotiating with both the seller and his wife, Russell secured the book, along with a collection of other Napoleon Hill works in October 2020, which came to a total of $2.2 million.

Determined not to let the text rot behind lock and key, Russell carefully flew it home on a private jet and now vows to use it as a tool to 'wake up' and educate aspiring entrepreneurs.
Given its pricey backstory, Russell, who can recite portions of the book by heart, believes it will grab people's attention and 'increase its perceived value.'
However, Collette, 49, wasn't impressed by the rare find and branded her husband 'crazy' before warning him to never spend that amount of money on a book again.
The full-time mom 'rolled her eyes' after discovering that Russell considered it his most prized possession.
Russell said: 'It's one of the biggest purchases I've made in my life by far. It's the holy grail of entrepreneurial success and personal development. He was the first to ever write about these principles.
'Most of the things you hear about today from all the self-help gurus online are just regurgitations from what originally came from this book.
'It's the only known complete copy that's signed, when I saw it I thought, "Oh that would be so cool to have."
'I spoke to the guy selling it and said, "Someday my goal is to buy that, so just get ready for me."

'He said he had another buyer looking at it. I thought, "Oh no, if I'm going to get this someday, that someday needs to be now."
He realized he had to go against his wife's wishes and drop the cash.
Russell revealed that Collette was 'stressed' about the big purchase.
He said: 'My wife Collette rolled her eyes when she realized I'd spent so much on one book. She thinks I'm crazy about most of the things I do but she also trusts me and it wasn't going to damage our family, our finances or anything like that so she was fine with it.
'She's jokingly warned me "no more big book purchases." She doesn't mind the little ones, but the big ones stress her out a little bit.'
The book will form the centerpiece of Russell's $25 million event center and museum. He hopes that the author's lessons will be valued more as it comes from a pricier book.
Russell, who is also co-founder of ClickFunnels, said: 'If I were to say, "I bought The Law Of Success for $500 on eBay" and if I try and share that message with them now they're not very likely to listen.
'If I tell them, "I spent $1.5 million on this book," now they listen. Now, it increases the perceived value of what I'm teaching from the book.
'The story behind it helps so much because now they all pay attention.
'When they come to our offices they want to see it, they want to take a picture with it, they care about what's inside now because of the perceived value.'
The book, housed in a specially made light and temperature-controlled box, is currently stored in an off-site location before it moves to its new home.

The father (seen with his son) noted that he is hopeful that people will get to see the book in its final location in a year
Russell said: 'It was so cool holding it in my hands for the first time, but I was so scared it was going to break.
'I love the smell of old books so I was smelling it and opened it up and seeing his signature inside was amazing.
'I thought to myself, "In 100 years time I hope somebody looks at my work the same way I'm looking at this." I was so excited about it, it was such a cool experience.'

He said: 'It's stored in an off-site location in a safe. We're building a museum that will be its final spot, hopefully within a year from now that will be finalized and people will have a chance to see and experience it. I'm big on creating experiences for people.
'Having definite purpose, building a mastermind group, over-delivering every single thing we do - those are the qualities we try to instate in all of our entrepreneurs and get them to really buy into.
'Those three alone, not even counting the rest of them, can shift somebody's life and relationship.'
