Louisiana cops find two escaped inmates hiding in dumpster behind Dollar General - as two others are still on the loose

After catching two escaped inmates, Louisiana police have launched a frantic manhunt for two others who slipped past the perimeter fence at an Amite City jail.

Police say the four young men snuck out of the Tangipahoa Parish Jail during recreation time in the jail yard Sunday evening.

The inmates were named as 19-year-old Omarion Hookfin, 19-year-old Avery Guidry, 20-year-old Jamarcus Cyprian and 21-year-old Travon Johnson.

Just before 12 pm local time on Monday, Johnson and Guidry were found hiding in a dumpster behind a Dollar General Store on Old Baton Rouge Highway, over 20 miles away from the jail.

Hookfin and Cyprian remained at large as of Monday afternoon.

Jamarcus Cyprian, 20, was behind bars for armed robbery and weapons charges, while 21-year-old Travon Johnson had been incarcerated in connection with the same murder

All four men had been jailed on charges pertaining to violent crime. 

Johnson, Hookfin and Guidry were incarcerated in connection with a 2022 homicide in Hammond, Louisiana.

Hoofkin was also charged with aggravated battery while behind bars in the Catahoula Parish.

Cyprian, meanwhile, had been jailed over armed robbery and weapon charges.
