Actor Robert De Niro squared off with Trump supporters outside the former president's hush money trial Tuesday in New York after calling him a 'clown' who wants to 'destroy the world.'
De Niro showed up alongside Capitol Police officers Harry Dunn and Michael Fanone as special guests of President Joe Biden's campaign.
The actor called Trump a 'clown' but also warned that reelecting him would be dangerous.
'I love this city I don't want to destroy it. Donald Trump wants to destroy not only the city but the country and eventually he could destroy the world,' De Niro said.
A group of Trump supporters could be heard in the background chanting, 'f*** Joe Biden,' with one person yelling at the actor, 'your movies suck!'

De Niro called Trump a slew of names and then had some heated altercations with some of the former president's supporters
'We New Yorkers used to tolerate him when he was just another grubby real estate hustler masquerading as a big shot,' De Niro said of Trump. 'A two-bit playboy lying his way into the tabloids. A clown.'
'But this city is pretty accommodating. We make room for clowns,' the actor continued. 'But not a person like Trump, who will eventually run the country, that does not work and we all know that.'
De Niro said that Trump voters 'bought into his bulls***.'
'Trump bought their votes with outrageous lies and empty promises,' the actor said.
De Niro, with Dunn and Fanone hovering behind him, recalled how Trump was able to get a angry mob to assault the capitol on January 6.
He said this is what motivated him to do the voiceover in a new Biden-Harris campaign ad.
'It shows the violence of Trump and reminds us that he'll use violence against anyone who stands in the way of his megalomania and greed,' the actor said. 'But it's a coward's violence,' he added.
Online people remarked that De Niro showed up to the event wearing a mask
'You think Trump ever threw a punch himself or took one?' De Niro mused. 'This guy who ran and hid in the White House bunker when there were protesters outside? No way. He doesn't get blood on his hands. No he doesn't. He directs the mob to do his dirty work for him.'
De Niro pointed to reports that said Trump would use the U.S. military to quell future protests against him.
'That's the tyrant he's telling us he'll be,' the actor warned.
The actor also warned that 'elections' in the U.S. would be over if Trump gets a second term.
'I can tell you right now. He will never leave. He will never leave. You know that. He will never leave,' De Niro said. 'Do we want him running this country and saying I'm not leaving, I'm dictator for life?'
At that moment a car alarm started blaring.
'The only way to preserve our freedoms and hold onto our humanity is to vote for Joe Biden for president,' De Niro encouraged. 'Really. We don't have a choice,' he continued, as the car honked on.
Online people mocked De Niro for wearing a mask outdoors, which he took off before addressing the press.
Trump spokesperson Jason Miller ridiculed the Biden campaign bringing De Niro out telling reporters afterward 'the best they can do is roll out a washed up actor.'
One of Trump's supporters used that same insult on De Niro as he departed.
'You're washed up,' a Trump supporter yelled at the actor.
'You are gangsters,' De Niro said.
'F*** you,' the actor also offered.
