An item at Costco has gained significant media attention for its skin-crawling appearance.

The food item, dubbed Naked Lobster, is a two pack of lobsters with their shells completely - and perfectly - removed.

They sell for $39.99 for a two-pack, which makes them extremely good value.

TikTok user The Sushi Guy (@photogami) tests out the product for viewers to show that despite its intimidating looks, the two pack is actually a great deal.

Many commenters said the lobster looked fake or unnatural coming deshelled.

'Tons of pressure to the lobster kills it instantly, and their flash comes right out of the shell,' the user said in the video.

The two-pack of 6.5-ounce lobsters come vacuum sealed with compound butter. He pointed out that there was not a perforated line separating the two crustaceans.

These pre-cooked lobsters are ready to heat up from frozen, eliminating the need for thawing.

Each lobster comes bathed in flavorful herb butter, perfect for a quick and delicious weeknight meal.

And because the shells are already removed, you can easily create all your favorite lobster dishes at home, like lobster mac and cheese.

The packs appear relatively hassle-free to cook. The content creator demonstrated how to prepare the dish.

He places the vacuum sealed lobster pack in a boiling pot of water for 11 minutes.

With tongs, the content creator removes the packet from the water, revealing two perfectly cooked lobsters in melted butter.

'If you overcook it, it becomes too rubbery. If you undercook it, it becomes too slimy. In the pouch, you're kind of doing a home sous vide, its fantastic,' the user said in his review.

He added that the lobster was little bit salty, if he had to make a critique, but since he was making a lobster roll, he said it was perfect.

With a brioche bun, lemon juice, butter, and some Old Bay seasoning, the user said it was the ideal at-home lobster roll.

'I want to give that an 8 out of 10 - good value,' he said.
