A high school sports announcer has sparked backlash after being caught on a hot mic making lewd jokes about suicide and soccer moms.

Toby Moore, a pundit with the NFHS Network, made the comments as he was covering a high school game in Kansas between two female soccer teams and accidentally left his mic on during halftime.

Speaking to an assistant in the room, he began a five-minute tirade by saying he wanted to jump from the press box because the students were playing so poorly.

The conversation devolved from there as he and the other person, who has not been identified, agreed that the 'bonus of calling high school soccer' was getting to leer at 'soccer moms.'

'F*** yeah baby - up top baby,' the men said as Brittany Spears' hit 'Toxic' plays in the background.

Not knowing their conversation was being broadcast to the public, they pointed out a woman from the crowd that they could 'feel her a** from here.'

During a recent high school soccer game in Kansas, a commentator suffered an awkward blunder as he made a number of lewd jokes about suicide and soccer moms while thinking his mic was off

In footage first shared by Awful Announcing, Moore began his regretful episode by slamming the high school players' performance in the first half.

'Oh, my goodness. God, was that first half as ugly as I thought it was?' he said, appearing to be annoyed at how he felt the need to refrain from criticizing the players on the air.

'That game, that had no flow whatsoever,' Moore continued. 'It’s a high school game and you can’t go, ‘What in the hell was that?''

After the other person chimed in that he could call out the players' skills, Moore said he would only do so in public for college games.

'Actions have consequences. It is my policy. It is beneath my dignity to call out high school players. I’ll try and subtly do it, but I’m just gonna say, this game blows,' he said.

Moore remarked that the low level game made his 'mind kind of flick the 'kill me now' switch' about 30 minutes in', adding: I just want to do a header off the top of the press box.'

'Unfortunately, it’s too low, it wouldn’t kill me... It’s like they aren’t even trying to pass. They are just chucking the ball downfield. A little technique will be nice. What the hell are they teaching these kids in practice? It’s unbelievable.'

After condemning the high schoolers' abilities, Moore continued with a lewd back-and-forth with the other person about being distracted by soccer moms by the side of the games.

At one point, Moore turned from criticizing the performance of the high school girls to making crude jokes about 'soccer moms' in the crowd

'A bonus though of calling high school soccer? Girls soccer? For high school? The soccer moms,' he said.

As the other person seemingly agreed, he singled one woman out from the crowd.

'F*** yeah baby - up top, baby,' he said. 'The one that’s facing us? See if she can tear it the f*** off... I can’t see the legs, but I can feel the a** hit from here.'

'She's got nice curves,' the other person added. 'Their ages are nice here too.'

Ironically, Moore concluded their conversation by noting that they would 'get in trouble' if anyone heard their remarks.

'This conversation never happened, by the way,' Moore said. 'We’d get in trouble. I would have never had this conversation if... was sitting in that chair. We’ve been around long enough, we know what we’re doing.

'Alright alright, I think we got it all out of our system. We can put the mic live again and let it rip.'

The footage of the conversation was initially caught by a parent, who then sent it to Awful Announcing, the outlet claimed.

Moore acknowledged he was the pundit in the clip, and released a statement to the outlet apologizing for his 'tasteless' comments.

'I would like to apologize to the Rose Hill and McPherson schools, players, coaches, families, and communities for my remarks last Saturday,' Moore said.

'They were tasteless, stupid, and inexcusable. Those comments did not reflect the tremendous season and hard work both sides had during the year. Thank you to KSHSAA and NFHS for allowing me the privilege to call games on their network.

'I sincerely and deeply apologize for my tasteless and hurtful remarks and ask forgiveness from those that were hurt by my words.'

In a statement to DailyMail.com, the NFHS Network apologized and said it terminated Moore as a result of the incident.

'The NFHS Network sincerely apologizes for the inappropriate comments made by an announcer contracted by our local production affiliate... These comments do not reflect the values or standards of the NFHS Network,' the statement read.

'We immediately removed the audio containing these comments from the on-demand broadcast. Additionally, our production affiliate has terminated its relationship with the announcer.

'We regret that this incident detracted from the incredible achievement of the players, coaches, and fans involved in the championship. The NFHS Network is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of student-athletes and high schools across the country and we do not tolerate any behavior that undermines this mission.'
