Nobody said it was easy.

A young woman named Sarah decried the New York City dating scene in a viral TikTok, as she sobbed out of frustration about her peace being 'disturbed' by men who pop in and out of her life.

'I wanna talk about the dating in New York, because it f**king sucks,' Sarah began the video, which she captioned: 'Dating in NYC is not for the weak.'

'Every single situationship, and thing, that I've been in, has gone so left. And I'm like, is it me? What did I do?'

Reflecting on her recent disappointments while dating, she felt at a loss as to what was causing her to be so unlucky in love.

'I give so much. Like, I hate it that I'm such a lover girl, even though I don't really look like it,' said Sarah, her brown eyes glistening with tears

'When I love, I love so hard.'

Nonetheless, every 'situationship' failed to grow into a more permanent, stable relationship, she claimed.

'I'm so over it. I don't wanna do the dating apps anymore.

'I'm done with dating.

'Like, before I met you, I was at peace. And then I met you, and we hung out, and did the thing.

'It was so good and I was so happy and I was so comfortable and everything was great.

'And then it goes left and it's like, you just disturbed my peace.'

Thousands took to the comments, many commiserating with Sarah, while others offered sympathy as well as generally sage advice

'Every time I give it another try, and I end up really finding a connection with someone, something ends up happening.

'And I always think that I'm the one who fucked it up. And I'm like, uh.

'Like, I swear to god, at the rate that this is going … I just give up. I'm done. I surrender.

'I'm just going to accept the fact that I'm going to be alone for the rest of my life, because I'm never going to find my person.

'Because every time I do, and every time I think I found someone, I didn't, and they end up just like, they just end up leaving. And I'm like, "What happened?"'

She admitted that she felt crying on camera was 'so cringe' of her.

'Cause, first of all, I hate crying, especially in front of people, cause I don't wanna show my weakness and vulnerability,' she said.

'But at the same time, somebody else has to relate to this. Because what the f**k, actually?'

She concluded that she was at home 'trying to enjoy the holiday with my family,' and her stepdad had made her 'a super f**king stiff drink.'

'But yeah. How's your Sunday?' she added with a strained smile.

Hundreds took to the comments to assure Sarah she wasn't alone in feeling heartsick over men and their behavior in the dating game.

'Megan Fox once said "develop a hobby, men will drain you." Honestly I no longer date bc (because) men these days are whack,' one offered up.

'I feel u. dating in ny is unforch (unfortunate) + i think ppl (people) have too many options and view ppl as replaceable so it's a nonstop rapid cycle of ups and downs,' a second reasoned.

'Oh, so collectively having the same experience,' a third chimed in.

'I feel like it's not just NY I think it's everywhere, it's such a shame,' a fourth echoed.

And, as a fifth sagely advised: 'Sometimes we have to train that lover girl in us that not everyone deserves that treatment protect your heart babe sending lots of love.'
