A 10-year-old boy who measures a whopping six-foot-three-inches thanks to a rare condition has opened up some of the harsh realities that come with being 'the tallest kid in the world' - from 'judgmental' parents to constant 'staring' from strangers.

Jayson suffers from something known as gigantism, which is a 'condition where there is a small growth on his pituitary gland that allows for constant release of growth hormone.'

When he was born, he weighed over 12 pounds and measured 26 inches - more than six inches longer than the average male baby.

By age seven, he was already over five-foot, and now, at age 10, he towers over most adult men at six-foot-three-inches.

While Jayson's immense height comes with some benefits, like getting a leg up in football, it has also resulted in him facing cruel assumptions from the moms and dads of other kids his age.

He and his mom, Mandy, recently spoke out about the hardships they have faced because of his condition to Truly.

Mandy explained to the publication that 'other parents' often 'judge her' for 'allowing him to get to this size' because they 'don't know he has a condition that causes it.'

She added that they also often have to deal with strangers 'staring' at him, especially when they attend school functions and he's around other kids his age.

Even so, Jayson - who was branded as 'the tallest kid in the world' by the Guinness World Records - is not ashamed of his massive size, and has learned to embrace it despite the looks he gets out in public.

'I love it, I'm proud to be the tallest kid in the world,' he told the outlet.

His mom added, 'He's very confident in his height and size and he loves the attention that he gets for it.'

Unfortunately, Mandy admitted that Jayson's health is 'getting worse over time' and that his weight - he weighs 'roughly 300 pounds' and eats 'more than the average adult' - has been an 'ongoing problem for them.'

'We try not to overfeed him,' she shared. 'It's just accentuating his weight which has been an ongoing problem for us.

'His health has definitely gotten worse over time. [With] gigantism, you not only grow on the outside, you also grow on the inside so all of your organs will start to enlarge - the liver, the heart.'

She explained that most people with gigantism only live to age 40 because their 'hearts become too enlarged,' but that Jayson is hopefully going to go under the knife some time in the next few years to stop him from growing any more.

'The procedure [will see doctors] go into his pituitary gland and remove the growth and that will stop all growth,' she explained.

'We're looking at doing the surgery when he's 13 or 14 years old. But he is very resistant to having that done.'

Jayson said he was 'scared' to be 'cut open,' but added that he knows 'he may have to have it.'

Another problem that Jayson faces is that he often struggles to find shoes that fit him, as he wears a 'men's 14 triple wide.'

'In gigantism, the excessive amount of growth hormone (GH) accelerates the growth of muscle, bones and connective tissue,' Cleveland Clinic previously reported.

She added that they also often have to deal with strangers 'staring' at him, especially when they attend school functions and he's around other kids his age

'This leads to an abnormally increased height as well as several soft tissue changes. When left untreated or unmanaged, some people with gigantism have grown over eight-feet tall.'

Symptoms include delayed puberty, headaches, joint pain, sleeping problems, and muscle weakness. It's usually caused by a genetic mutation.

Friends of Jayson's described him as a 'gentle giant,' with one of his teammate's dads gushing to Truly, 'He seems like a really good kid.

'He seems very humble and I don't think he even really thinks about the fact that he's so much larger than everybody else. He's just a normal kid in a different body.'

'I'm very proud of him and his differences and the issues that he's dealt with over his 10-year life,' added his mom.
