A nine-year-old girl has died in a 'freak' dirt bike accident on a California race track after she was hit by another child riding a motorcycle.
Brooke Carlton, 9, was riding an electric motorbike at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park when she was struck on Sunday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.
The Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station deputies and Cal Fire responded to the scene and found good Samaritans performing life-saving measures on an unconscious Brooke after she was hit by another kid on a track designated for off-road vehicles.
She was transported to the Inland Valley Medical Center where she died later that day.
'Yesterday the good Lord called our dear Brooke Lily to heaven after a freak accident at a local motocross track,' Brooke's parents Jason and Angie said in a statement shared on their GoFundMe.

'Our entire family is still trying to understand why our Brookie, but we firmly believe that God needed her and called her home to be with him.'
Police said the other child was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Brooke started racing motocross at eight years old and was gearing up to race BMX, according to her Go Fast Girls ambassador biography.
Her father Jason runs a personal watercraft and UTV racing parts business and has 30 years of powersports racing experience.
'We are truly sad about the situation. This was such a freak accident as the parent said,' Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park said on Instagram.

'This is not a time to bash the track but a time to remember this little girl and support her family.'
'We are a community and we will do our part in supporting the family as well. May you rest in peace Brooke,' the park said.
Family friend Ally Giles described the nine-year-old as an 'absolute sweetheart' who loved her parents, grandparents, dog Gunner and 12-year-old brother Landon the most.
'Brooke, she was a total spitfire that knew what she wanted and there was no way of getting around it,' Giles said.

'One look at her glittering eyes and toothy smile and she could have you convinced that the sky was indeed pink and purple, and that you should "buy her an ice cream" because of it.'
'We still have many unanswered questions about what truly happened, but after much discussion last night with Jason, we have come up with some ideas to keep Brooke’s "waves" alive for years to come,' Giles said.
'We’re not gonna make waves, we’re gonna make a tsunami for you baby girl.'
