Terrence Beasor dead at 89: Veteran character actor known for Raising Hope and The Middle passes away with wife by his side at home

Veteran character actor Terrence Beasor has died at the age of 89.

A rep for the actor told Deadline Wednesday that Beasor passed away May 28 at his home in Santa Monica, California, with his wife Muriel Minot at his side.

Beasor and Minot, an actress, had been wed for more than 55 plus years.

Beasor had worked steadily in Hollywood for more than four decades in TV and film.

Among the shows he appeared on in the 1980s included The Incredible Hulk, The Young and the Restless, Police Squad!, The Greatest American Hero, Dallas.

Other creative endeavors in that timeframe included The A-Team, Hunter, Hill Street Blues, Cheers, L.A. Law, Max Headroom, Simon & Simon, Dynasty, Knots Landing and Murder, She Wrote, among others.

In the 1990s, Beasor worked on programs including Father Dowling Mysteries, Columbo, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Chicago Hope, among others.

The early 2000s brought about roles on The Practice, The Commission, Gilmore Girls and Scrubs.

Among the programs Beasor worked on since 2010 included Hot in Cleveland, House, The Middle and Scandal.

He played the role of a country doctor in the 2007 John C. Reilly comedy film Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. 

His final role listed on iMDb came on the Jim Carrey series Kidding in 2020.

Beasor also did substantial work in the voice-over field amid his acting endeavors, as he lent his voice to endeavors including Jaws: The Revenge, Coupe de Ville and Remington Steele.

Beasor's life began in the Midwest, as he was born in Omaha, Nebraska on February 2, 1935, with his family relocating to Los Angeles when he was seven-years-old.

After graduating from Garfield High, Beasor was in the U.S. Navy for four years, and got involved with the Pasadena Playhouse in 1953. He moved to New York in the mid-1960s at the age of 30, according to the outlet. 

Beasor and Minot initially crossed paths in 1968 at the Equity Library Theatre in New York, and relocated to Concord, Massachusetts for a seven-year timeframe.

Beasor had been 'very proud' that his first union had been the Actors’ Equity Association, according to the outlet.

While in Massachusetts, Beasor and Minot collaborated on a number of stage shows in Boston, and earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in 1976 at Brandeis University.

Beasor and Minot relocated to Los Angeles after his graduation and worked together on projects such as Days of Our Lives, Gangster Chronicles, The Practice. They also participated in plays and commercials.

Beasor's family requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to Entertainment Community Fund, formerly known as the Actors Fund. According to the outlet, 'Anything that helps actors would be his wish.'
