Alec Baldwin has been accused of using a 'calculated and cynical' move to portray himself as a 'sympathetic family man' through his new television show - as he prepares to go on trial for the fatal Rust shooting.
The American actor, 66, announced yesterday that he and his wife Hilaria Baldwin are launching a new reality series.
The annoucement was made in a video posted to the movie star's Instagram account.
The show is billed as a way to give fans a glimpse into the couple's 'ups and downs' while they raise their seven children, the eldest of whom is only 10 years old.
Gloria Allred, attorney for Hutchins's parents and sister said: 'This appears to me to be a calculated and cynical public relations move'.
Actor Alec Baldwin has been accused of 'calculated' attempt to portray himself as a 'sympathetic family man' ahead of his manslaghter trial by the lawyer representing Halyna Hutchins's parents - a cinematographer who was killed on the set of the film 'Rust' in 2021
This comes after the actor, and his wife Hilaria, announced their upcoming tv series on Wednesday. The show will offer a glimpse into the couple's lives. Together, they have seven children, all under the age of 10

The news comes just weeks after it was revealed that Alec will go to trial for manslaughter over the 2021 death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins (seen) on set of his movie Rust
She continued on to say that Baldwin's decision to bring cameras into his home was his attempt to make jurors 'think of him as a sympathetic family man rather than as the killer of Halyna Huthcins'.
It comes as Baldwin prepares for his involunatry manslaughter trial over the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins, a 42-year-old filmmaker who was killed on the set of the film 'Rust' in October 2021 - after she was hit in the chest by a bullet fired from a 'prop firearm' that Baldwin was holding while rehearsing for a scene.
The show is set to premier in 2025 on TLC and will follow the couple as they 'open up their lives for the first time and bring everyone in to join in the non-stop love, laughter and drama,' per a press release.
But it is speculated that the series will document the lead up and aftermath of the court proceedings which began in New Mexico last July.
The actor's bid to avoid a conviction has been further complicated, however, as it emerged yesterday that a potential defence witness was recorded saying that she wanted the actor to be jailed.

Halyna (seen on set with Alec) was tragically shot and killed in October 2021 after she was hit in the chest by a bullet fired from a 'prop firearm' that Alec was holding
Rust armorer Hanna Gutierrez-Reed's alleged comments were revealed in transcripts of her phone calls from prison. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter - due to to the accidental placing of live ammunition into the weapon used in the fatal shooting.
Baldiwn has always denied his responsibility for Hutchins's death.
According to an affidavit, assistant director David Halls had taken the weapon off of a cart full of props and handed it to Alec, telling him it was a 'cold gun,' which meant it didn't have any real bullets in it.
However, he told investigators that armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed had opened the gun for him to inspect before he gave it to Alec, but that he only remembered checking three out of five of the rounds.
While Alec claimed that he did not 'pull the trigger,' the FBI later ruled that it was unlikely that the gun fired on its own after undergoing a series of tests.
Even so, the actor told ABC in December 2021 that he was not responsible for what happened.
'Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a bullet that wasn't even supposed to be on the property,' he said.
He has pleaded not guilty for his upcoming July trial. If convicted, he faces up to 18 months in prison.
