Police were called to check on Ryan Garcia at a hotel in Los Angeles on Wednesday night amid concerns over the boxer's wellbeing, according to reports.

TMZ Sports claims that Garcia, who tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs after his upset win over Devin Haney in April, was examined by cops at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills following a call from a member of his family.

The family member in question is said to have been left worried about his health, only for officers to determine that he was fine and not a harm to himself or others.

After coming to that conclusion, all parties reportedly went on their way with no further action required.

It remains unclear what led to the initial call from a member of the 25-year-old's family.

Garcia has endured a rocky 2024 so far; which began with the boxing star divorcing wife Andrea Celina immediately after the birth of their second child in December.

Heading into his much-anticipated clash with Haney in April, he then sparked major fears over the state of his mental health with a series of disturbing and bizarre online tirades, including one which alleged his throat had been slit.

Garcia also claimed to have been raped at an early age by a family member, while alleging that he was tied up in the woods by 'the elites' and forced to watch child rape.

Amid concerns over his state of mind, he came in almost four pounds overweight for his grudge match against WBC super-lightweight champion Haney, meaning he did not collect that title despite his victory on the night.

And following his points triumph in Brooklyn, it later emerged that Garcia had tested positive for banned substance Ostarine the day before and the day of the fight, before his B-sample tests provided the same result.

However, his team claim the B-sample results prove their man is innocent, insisting he is simply the victim of supplement contamination.

'The test results from samples of two supplements declared by Ryan Garcia on VADA Doping Control Forms, signed on April 19th and 20th, have returned positive for Ostarine contamination,' a statement from Garcia's attorneys read.

'This confirms what we have consistently maintained: Ryan was a victim of supplement contamination and has never intentionally used any banned or performance-enhancing substances. Any claims to the contrary, questioning Ryan's integrity as a clean fighter, are unequivocally false and defamatory.'

On Wednesday, Garcia took to social media to reveal his mother, Lisa, is currently battling breast cancer.

'My mom has gave me the Ok to post,' he wrote. 'Please pray for my mother.

'Cancer STUPID I don’t care she will win - Breast cancer is stupid, JESUS IS ABOVE ALL'.
