Charles Schwab app is DOWN: Customers report service is not working

Trading firm Charles Schwab's app and website is not working, according to customrers.

Furious clients have taken to X, formerly Twitter, to complain about what appears to be a signifircant outage 

According to Downdetector - which monitors when websites and apps are down - more than 1,000 customers reported issues logging on this morning.

'Need to get your platform back up and running this morning. These sudden outages in the middle of trading without warning are not acceptable,' one customer said on X.

It still appeared to be down at 12.10pm ET when one person wrote: 'Still down. Make them accountable by calling Charles Cchwab - compensate!'

On its website, Charles Schwab said: 'Due to a technical issue, some clients may have difficulty logging in to Schwab.com, our mobile app, and StreetSmart platforms. 

'We're working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.'

Charles Shwab later sent an email just before 1pm ET saying: 'An earlier issue where some clients may have had issues logging in to some Schwab platforms has been resolved. 

'Clients can try logging in again. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.'
