A woman was caught on a police station security camera ripping up seven American flags 'posted in honor of fallen officers' before boldly bowing and flipping the bird.

The incident happened in the week of June 5 around the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office headquarters in Colorado

Officers have appealed for help identifying the vandal.

They said they believed the woman used a small blade or keys to tear the flags, going from pole to pole to rip them all.

Sharing the footage the Sheriff's Office said: 'When she was done, she even gave us a bow before heading in the direction of the light rail station.'

The incident unfolded just before 6pm on June 5.

In the video, the woman, who is wearing shorts, a black vest and red striped hat, walks up to a police security camera and shows them her tattoos.

She then approaches a flag and tears it lengthways before flipping off the camera and curtsying.

She then walks away across the road, stopping to bow once more.

Sharing the video on X, police said: 'Just before 6 p.m. on June 5, this young lady put on a show for our cameras.

'After talking extensively to our security camera along Jefferson County Parkway (sadly, no sound) she used her tallest finger to let us know we are #1.

'She then showed us her tattooed arms, the object she planned to use to perform her desecration, and proceeded to rip to shreds seven of the American flags we have posted around our headquarters in Golden.

'These flags are posted in honor of fallen officers.

'When she was done, she even gave us a bow before heading in the direction of the light rail station.

'We are pretty sure that she would like us to personally credit her performance, so if you can help us identify this individual, we will make sure she gets the encore she deserves.'

The vandal faces a misdemeanor charge of Criminal Mischief.
