Convicted murderer Rebecca Grossman is languishing at the notorious Los Angeles 'Twin Towers' jail as she waits to be transferred to a state prison to serve her sentence for killing two young brothers.
It could take anywhere from two to four weeks for Grossman to be transferred to one of three women's prisons in California, sources told DailyMail.com.
The 60-year old disgraced socialite - whose birthday is on Friday - has been housed at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Downtown LA since a jury found her guilty almost four months ago for the hit-and-run deaths of Mark and Jacob Iskander in September 2020.
She was sentenced to 15 years to life at an emotionally-charged hearing in Van Nuys Monday, but could be eligible for parole in as little as seven to eight years.
Prosecutors had asked the judge to consider a sentence of 34 years to life and argued the disgraced socialite was 'more than deserving' of harsher punishment.

'We're obviously disappointed,' Deputy District Attorney Ryan Gould told DailyMail.com on Tuesday. 'We felt that there were two lives that were taken, and therefore she should be punished for the two separate lives she took.
'There was a lack of remorse, even in court, when she said, "I'm sorry for what happened." Not once did she say she was sorry for what she did. She never has once taken responsibility for her own actions because according to her, it's always been someone else's fault.'
Grossman fatally struck Mark Iskander, 11, and his brother Jacob, 8, while speeding behind a car driven by her then-lover Scott Erickson, a former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher, and then fled the scene.

Sources said Grossman was placed on suicide watch for the first few days she was locked up at Twin Towers after a jury found her guilty of two murder counts in February.
The Twin Towers jail includes a 'correctional treatment center', or a medical ward, where female inmates and inmates with mental health concerns are housed.
During a shocking moment at her sentencing at an LA court on Monday, Grossman admitted she has contemplated suicide and wished God had taken her life.
'He knows that if I had seen anyone, I would've thrown myself to the brick wall,' a hysterical and sobbing Grossman said to the Iskander family. 'I wanted God to take my life. I don't know why God didn't take my life.
She continued: 'I wish He would take my life. And if I could give my life right now and say to God, "Could you just please bring Mark and Jacob back," I would tell God to take my life. I am so, so sorry!'
Understaffed and overcrowded, the Los Angeles County jail system - the nation's largest - books nearly 200,000 inmates per year and watches over a population that averages 18,000 a day. Rebecca, who co-founded a renowned burn center with her plastic surgeon husband Dr. Peter Grossman, went from glitzy galas and fundraisers with Hollywood elites to sleeping at LA County's largest jail known for its 'barbaric' and overcrowded conditions.
The Twin Towers, which has separate men's and women's facilities, was flagged by a group of senators last year for its 'appalling' conditions where inmates were found shackled to tables, slept in urine soaked floors and sat in their own feces.
The Towers also have had a history of sexual assaults among inmates or even the deputies guarding them, according to reports from the U.S. Justice Department.
Gould said Grossman would more than likely be transferred to the state prison for women in Chino or Chowchilla. Once she is transferred to one of those facilities, she will undergo a reception and classification process that could take up to 90 days.
During that time, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation administrators will review several factors, including Grossman's mental health, the type of crime she committed and her criminal background.
Criminal legal expert and defense attorney Lou Shapiro said Grossman would more than likely place at a 'Level 1' area - the lowest level - because of her lack of criminal background.

He added some inmates even qualify to be a 'trustee' or an inmate worker, who are selected for jobs in the jail such as cooking, managing the jail library or maintenance.
'The trustee status even allows them to have more access to free time, maybe sometimes better food and opportunities for more visitations,' Shapiro told DailyMail.com. 'They also could get time off their sentences. It's in exchange for good behavior and the work they are doing and the goodwill that they have earned as a trustee.
'Although she was convicted of murder, it was not an intentional crime, so there is a good likelihood she would be at a Level 1 part of the prison and could be a trustee.'
At the Chowchilla state prison, Grossman would be in the same facility as 'House of Horror' mom Louise Turpin, who was sentenced 25 years to life - along with her husband David- for starving and torturing 12 of their 13 children in their Perris, Calif. home.
