Bella Hadid has come under fire over her social media posts about Hamas' alleged treatment of Israeli hostages.
The supermodel shared a post on her Instagram stories Wednesday in which she claimed that Hamas made released hostage Almog Meir Jan, 21, a birthday cake while he was held in captivity.
But after he and the three other hostages had been rescued, a clinical nutritionist revealed the group had suffered from serious malnutrition while being held by the terrorists since October 7 last year.
She also shared a separate post Wednesday, seemingly suggesting that Hamas hostages are treated better than Palestinians detained in Israel.
Hadid, who has been a heavy critic of the war in Gaza, was accused of 'spreading misinformation' and branded a 'horrific human being' in wake of the posts.
It comes as the Palestinian-American model starred alongside Sudanese-Canadian poet and singer Mustafa in his music video Gaza is Calling, which is reportedly a commentary on the situation in Palestine.

The birthday cake post that Hadid shared to her stories referred to a remark that Jan made after being rescued on Saturday, but was taken out of context.
The 21-year-old, speaking about the treatment they faced in captivity, told the Kan public broadcaster that his captors had made him a cake for his birthday. He called the move a 'cynical' gesture.
Medics at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv, where the hostages received treatment after the rescue, claimed that the four were malnourished while in captivity eight months.
They only ate roughly a quarter or tenth of the amount they should have and lost severe muscle mass, The Jerusalem Post reported.
Outraged by Hadid sharing the birthday cake post, social media users argued that her 'account should be suspended for misinformation'.
One shared the cake post, which he labeled as 'fake', side-by-side with a news article in which a doctor claimed the hostages were 'beaten and abused almost every day'.
Another slammed Hadid for being a 'Hamas groupie dressed up in Chanel' and said: 'They took a man hostage, locked him in the bathroom, piled blankets on him during a heat wave, threatened to kill him multiple times, but omg they made him a birthday cake.'
'Bella Hadid is spreading lies and supporting a terror organization once again. Even if it was true and they did make him a cake, does it make it okay after kidnapping and holding him for 8 months??,' questioned another. 'Thank god the IDF managed to rescue him so now he can celebrate with his loved ones.'
One user added: 'Maybe it's time for Bella Hadid to taste the "cakes" in Gaza.'
The original birthday cake post has since been deleted.
Some social media users branded Hadid a 'horrific human' and accused her of spreading misinformation. They also used shared posts apparently disproving the allegations in her posts that Hamas was treating hostages well
Hadid was also criticized for a video she shared to her stories in which nine-year-old released hostage Ohad Mondar revealed some of the Arabic words he learned while in Hamas captivity
Hadid was also criticized for a video she shared to her stories in which nine-year-old released hostage Ohad Mondar revealed some of the Arabic words he learned while in Hamas captivity.
The footage also showed the alleged mistreatment of Palestinian children who are detained in Israel.
Hadid wrote on the post: 'Can you imagine speaking to a child this way? When he is so traumatized by his life under siege that he is unable to remember every moment?
'I'm sorry but F*** you. This is disgusting.'
One X user alleged the video, which was shared by the account @SuppressedNws after Hadid posted it to her stories, does not properly depict the situation.
'The kid on top was being questioned because he attempted to kiII multiple people. Probably worth mentioning!' he said, re-tweeting the footage.
'Brother Suppressed got this video from Bella Hadid.'
Earlier this week, Hadid appeared in Mustafa the poet's new music video, Gaza is Calling. The short film, directed by Hiam Abbass, depicts the story of a Gazan boy that Mustafa allegedly grew up with and the ongoing situation in Palestine

'I wrote & recorded it in 2022, Bella and I conceptualised the video that same year, we shot it last year,' Mustafa said in a post announcing the music video.
'It haunts me that this song/film was written and recorded so long ago'.
He added: 'To Ali, wherever you are, I love you. [And] Bella, thank you for answering my call'.
Mustafa said proceeds from the song will be given to the Palestinian children's relief fund.
