A wealthy venture capitalist has been slammed for leaving her dog locked inside her car on a hot day.
Joana Tieu was branded an 'animal abuser' by the angry crowd who spotted the dog trapped in the Lexus on Wednesday.
The dog was left parked up on the San Francisco street in 73 degree heat for more than half an hour, according to furious witnesses.
But when confronted about her behavior, Tieu told the SF Standard the group, 'should focus attention on the things that they need to be focused on, such as homeless people sleeping on the street'.
The window to the car was cracked slightly, however the Humane Society states this can have little impact on the temperature inside a vehicle which can hit 116 degrees in an hour if outside is at 72 degrees.

'I'm going to shame them publicly,' the man says while filming the Lexus before after Tieu enters the frame.
'We're trying to locate the owner,' he says to her, causing her to turn back in surprise.
'Of the dog?' She responds gesturing to the vehicle.
'Yeah the dog was locked inside, everyone was concerned, you see all these people?' He asks.
As she gets into her car another woman approaches saying she has animal control on the line.

'You left your dog in the car for over a half hour in this heat, shame on you' she yells through the window.
'Do you want to talk to animal control? You are a sh***y dog owner. Shame on you. Shame on you.'
As Tieu pulls away the woman shouts at her calling her an 'animal abuser' while another woman yells, 'Don't ever leave your dog in a hot ass car'.
In an interview with SF Standard, Tieu claimed her dog was only left in the car for a short while as she attended a doctors' appointment which ran over.
'He cannot be by himself because he gets miserable. He's not used to it,' she said. 'I have no one to watch over him. I have to take him with me.'
She also accused the concerned crowd of being 'rude' to her.
But the Human Society warns that it is never acceptable to leave a dog inside a vehicle.
'Leaving pets locked in cars is never safe,' the non-profit states. 'But when the weather gets warmer, it can be deadly. High temperatures can cause irreparable organ damage and even death.'
