A group of trans activists appeared to disrupt a New York City school board meeting by loudly humming and howling as attendees attempted to discuss a policy that would ban transgender athletes from playing on girls' sports teams.
The meeting on Wednesday night was held by Community Education Council District 2, Manhattan's largest school district.
The meeting planned to discuss a controversial measure passed in March that would demand the city's Department of Education allow a public review of its transgender athlete policy.
Since the measure was passed, trans advocates have showed up at each school board meeting to protest even discussing the possibility of moving forward with the review, which is what happened Wednesday night when anyone with an opposing view attempted to speak.
One video of the bizarre humming and howling performance given by the trans advocates - many of whom were in matching jeans and white t-shirts - showed that the woman whose voice they were drowning out is Amaya Perez, a black, bisexual woman who leads the NYC chapter of Gays Against Groomers.

The video was posted by Kara Dansky, a self-described 'feminist Democrat fighting for the sex-based rights of women and girls,' who also described the hummers as the 'cult of trans.'
In her narration of the short clip, she says: 'I'm in New York City, at a hearing to discuss a resolution to call on the city to reevaluate policy allowing male athletes to compete in women's sports.
'A speaker is trying to speak on behalf of that resolution and this is how the cult of trans responds. This is the cult of trans, New York City, June 12, 2024. So much for speech,' she concludes.
Under her voice, a loud, low-toned hum can be heard echoing around the school gymnasium, where the meeting is being held. The tone is periodically accented with the sound of someone howling like a wolf.
One of the school board members, Maud Maron, added to the discussion about the meeting on X, posting several of her own videos and slamming the noisy group.
'The creepy humming in this video is a bunch of trans activists who with peak hypocrisy complained I did not give them my "undivided attention" while they paraded their slogans & talking points for a 4th month in row but refused to listen to this women who disagrees with them,' wrote Maron over a video of Amaya Perez attempting to speak at the meeting.
'The sheer cult-like bizarreness of the behavior was shocking,' she wrote, adding that she is the one who wrote the March resolution, which her committee overwhelming passed by a vote of 8-3.
'My views on improving academics & gender ideology were well known when I was elected to my 3rd term,' she said, implying that her concerns on the matter are likely shared by many parents of children at the schools in the district.
'The trans activist class, with a full-throated assist from NY’s Democratic elected politicians, have gone into overdrive reacting to this non-binding request for a committee. Why? Because the Cult of Gender Ideology is very fragile.
'When examined at all it starts to fray. So no questions can be asked. The censoriousness of the crowd was a thing to behold,' she wrote, before describing the behavior of the trans activists at the meeting.
'They heckled and shouted down every speaker that did not pay obsequious homage to their gender cult religion - requiring the council to suspend public speaking for a time.'
The activists have reportedly taken over every school board meeting since a measure passed in March that would demand the city allow a public review of its transgender athlete policy

At the meeting in late March, when the controversial measure first passed, some parents spoke out against the resolution.
Jared Danker, a gay father and Department of Education employee who has a child in a District 2 school, said the measure would 'marginalize and discriminate against a group of students who need our affirmation and support,' according to the New York Post.
Erik Bottcher, a New York City Council member also condemned the effort as 'utterly shocking,' 'regressive,' and 'harmful.'
'We are outraged that you’re considering a resolution targeting transgender girls and sports,' he said.
The goal of the controversial measure - resolution 248 - is to hold a review of the Department of Education's guidelines and to add room for parental involvement into some key decision making.
District 2 parents who support the resolution are after transparency when it comes to policy that impacts their school-aged children. Many say it is not clear to them how the initial guidelines were established.
