Terrifying moment WWE superstar Damian Priest lands on his NECK after getting his foot caught in the ropes while attempting move at Clash at the Castle

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest narrowly avoided serious injury as he landed on his neck on the stiff ring apron during his match at 'Clash at the Castle' against Drew McIntyre.

Priest was attempting a front-flip dive over the top rope and outside the ring to land on a standing McIntyre, a maneuver he's seamlessly completed hundreds of times.

The Judgment Day member typically completes the dive by launching himself with a springboard from the middle rope. Priest overstepped the middle rope slightly, tumbling over it and getting his ankle caught in the top two ropes.

His ankle getting caught sent his send directly into the ring apron, with Priest dangling over the side of the ring after botching the move.

The referee and McIntyre had to help free Priest from hanging upside down. Priest continued the match and retained his championship in the main-event match.

The injury to Priest's ankle looked legitimate, as he clearly favored it the rest of the match.

During WWE's post-event press availability, Priest said his ankle felt 'like trash' and that he attended the scrum instead of being immediately checked out by doctors.

'I was able to beat Drew McIntyre on one foot, so I'm pretty sure I'm all good to go,' Priest said.

Priest won the World Heavyweight Championship from McIntyre at WrestleMania 40 in April, moments after McIntyre won the belt himself from Seth Rollins.

Priest got the title opportunity by cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase, which he won last year.

McIntyre got his rematch in his home country of Scotland, but came up empty in part due to a low blow from rival CM Punk.

If Priest is injured, it will likely be address as part of WWE's next show, Monday Night Raw.
