Angel Reese blasted Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever after they defeated the Chicago Sky on Sunday, stating because of Clark's star power, she and her team get special treatment.

It was Reese who picked up a flagrant-one foul after missing a block and following through on the motion and smacking Clark in the head with her arm, sending her sprawling down to the court in pain.

Reese was not ejected from the game for the foul, as it was deemed to be excessive, but not unnecessary, due to her swinging her arm coming from a normal basketball move.

Clark and Reese's careers have been intertwined alongside the rise in popularity of women's basketball, with Clark getting more of the credit for the new interest than Reese.

That led to Sunday's Sky-Fever game, their second meeting in professional basketball. Indiana has won both matchups, including a 91-83 win on Sunday.

'I think we were playing really hard,' Reese said. 'I think we went up really strong a lot of times and we didn't get a lot of calls.'

'And going back and looking at the film, I've seen a a lot of calls that weren't made,' Reese continued. 'I guess some people got a special whistle.'

Clark was nonchalant in her view of the event, not blaming Reese for making contact with her head.

'What's going through my mind is I gotta make these two free throws. That's all I'm thinking about,' Clark said.

'It's just part of basketball,' Clark continued. 'It is what it is. She's trying to make a play on the ball and get the block. Yeah, it happens.'

Clark nearly had a triple-double with 23 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds.

Reese was not shut down despite coming up against Clark with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Just like any other professional sports league, talking down on the officiating would lead to a fine for Reese.

Her comments skirt a true insult, while also making a dig at Clark and her team.

It was Clark's Iowa team that lost to Reese's LSU team in last year's NCAA Championship game.

The Hawkeyes got revenge in this year's Elite Eight, knocking the Tigers out of the tournament.

Reese and Clark do not have to wait long to face again, with the third Fever-Sky matchup of the season taking place next Sunday.

Their final collision of the regular season is on August 30.
