A manhunt has been launched for a transgender woman who police say murdered a man and a woman in a Utah residence.

Washington City Police are looking for Collin Troy Bailey, 28, who also goes by the name Mia Bailey, who is currently transitioning.

Police said they were called after reports of shots fired at the home, and upon entry found the two deceased adults, confirming they died from gunshot wounds.

No identities for the victims have been released.

The home where the victims were found shot dead is listed as Bailey's home address, according to public records.

Also living there are Gail Bailey, 69, and her husband Joseph, 70, who appear to be Bailey's parents, though police are yet to confirm they were the victims.

Bailey is the single suspect wanted by officers and is considered to be armed and dangerous.

She was seen fleeing the scene in a yellow 2014 Kia Sol, with her current whereabouts unknown.

Gephardt Daily reported that in the early hours of Wednesday morning, police transmissions indicated that officers had located Bailey's general area.

The outlet said that they believed the suspect to be on foot and officers were trying to contain the area while awaiting for a SWAT team.

City Police Lt. Kory Klotz told St. George News: '[Officers] did find two deceased victims — both adults, one female, one male.

'As they cleared the rest of the residence, they found evidence of a homicide. Her whereabouts are unknown.

He added: 'We can’t stress enough that we want to keep the public safe and make sure that they do not approach her and contact us at this point.'

In its initial news release, the Washington City Police department shared condolences and thanked other agencies that were assisting.
