A Florida man has been arrested for hurling chairs and planks of wood off of a Midtown Manhattan skyscraper.

Jean Olivier, 33, of West Park, South Florida, was taken into custody this week after allegedly throwing a chair and other objects from the rooftop of 555 Fifth Ave., an office building near East 46th Street.

Olivier had reportedly entered the building to visit the Consulate General of Haiti to complain about housing before he allegedly went into a frenzy.

Police reported that just after 2:25 pm on Friday, Olivier had 'unlawfully' made his way to the outdoor terrace of the 20-story high-rise building, where he began tossing a chair off the roof.

Witnesses captured the man on camera as he threw a wooden chair over the edge, before it smashed into the scaffolding below as pedestrians scrambled to safety.

Following the chair, Olivier continued to throw what looked like planks of wood and what appeared to be a chunk of concrete.

The objects were seen drifting through the sky, carried by the wind, in the video that has since gone viral.

The chair is seen on video smashing into on oncoming bus.

The heart-stopping incident occurred in broad daylight on East 46th Street and 5th Avenue in midtown Manhattan.

Another video captured by onlookers shows Olivier waving his arms at the public from the rooftop.

The viral video, posted by Conor Strong via Storyful, circulated on social media and left viewers in disbelief over the unhinged behavior they witnessed.

'Bring back mental institutions. It's everywhere. Every day,' one user commented on X.

'My ex would do stuff like this during a mood swing. Once because I bought new shoes for myself but didn't come home with anything for her. most of my stuff was quickly out the window,' another viewer wrote in an ambiguous comment.

Many viewers expressed concern for the New Yorkers below, with one writing: 'Was he arrested? That could kill somebody below.'
