Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt have fired back at Crystal Hefner for sending them a cease and desist letter.

The former Girls Next Door stars found themselves in Crystal's crosshairs after they blasted her on an episode of their Girls Next Level podcast with Hugh Hefner's son Marston, 34, last month.

Holly, 44, previously accused Crystal, 38, of 'copying' her, while Marston branded his ex-stepmom a 'master manipulator' on Holly's podcast.

Reacting to Crystal's legal retaliation, Holly snidely referred to the blonde as 'cease and desist lady' on the latest episode of her show this week.

'The thing that really blows my mind about this is she's trying to send a cease and desist, basically threatening a lawsuit for us airing our opinions, and this woman is at the head of a free speech foundation,' she said.

'I can't deal with the hypocrisy right now,' Holly added.

Chiming in, Bridget said, 'First it was NDAs, now it's cease and desists. Nobody's allowed to talk but her!'

She added, 'Apparently the first amendment is only for her.'

Crystal currently serves as the president of the Hugh M. Hefner Foundation, which is dedicated to advancing free speech and individual liberties.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Crystal for comment.

The former DJ sent a cease and desist notice to Holly and Bridget last week, claiming that their comments about her were false and damaging to her reputation.

Crystal condemned the remarks as 'malicious and intentionally misleading,' and said that they had caused her 'serious harm,' TMZ reported after reviewing court docs in the case.

The Lake Havasu City native, who was wed to Hugh Hefner from 2012 until his death in 2017, said that Holly 'lied' on her May 12 podcast with co-host Bridget.

On the podcast, titled, 'What We REALLY Think About Crystal's Book,' Holly and Bridget welcomed Hefner's son Marston as a guest.

Amid a discussion about Crystal's book Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself, Marston implied that Crystal kept the late Hugh 'dosed with f***ing medication' in his later years to exploit him financially.

Crystal's legal team said in the letter that 'nothing could be further from the truth' in that regard, as the allegation 'is entirely false and will not be tolerated.

'As we understand it, Ms. Hefner was steadfast in her commitment to Mr. Hefner through his final days, ensuring that he was cared for and received the best medical attention available,' Crystal's legal team said.

According to the outlet, Crystal vowed in the letter to pull Holly into litigation if she made accusations as such moving forward.

Holly appeared to respond to the legal letter in a statement on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday.

'Imagine running a free speech foundation and then sending someone a cease and desist for talking,' she wrote, accompanied by a series of laughing emojis.

Holly added in a subsequent tweet, 'Your attorney can't even find my correct email address' with a clown emoji.

A lawyer for Crystal told TMZ in a statement: 'Ms. Hefner will not have her name and reputation tarnished by opportunists.

'We stand by the contents of the letter and will enforce Ms. Hefner's rights to the fullest.'

Holly clashed with Crystal earlier this year when she said that Crystal's 2024 book, Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself, lifted a number of narrative elements from her own 2015 book Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny.

'Anybody who's read my book that came out eight years ago and then read her book, tell me the narrative voice doesn't sound exactly the same,' Madison told the Lady Gang podcast in April.

She added, 'I was reading it and there were some times I was like: "I feel like I'm reading my own book. This is creepy."'

Crystal famously wed the magazine publisher in 2012 when she was 26 and he was 86.

They were married until his death, aged 91, in 2017 as a result of heart failure and septicemia after contracting a deadly strain of e-coli.

He left a reported $43 million fortune.
