False claims that Justin Timberlake had 'Molly, poppers, coke' and an HIV medication in his system when he was arrested in the Hamptons have gone viral on social media.
News emerged on Tuesday that the former NSYNC member, 43, had been taken into custody for driving while intoxicated in exclusive Hamptons enclave Sag Harbor.
Afterwards, a satirical account on X, formerly Twitter, fooled many people into believing the singer was on a series of drugs at the time.
The account, called Poo Crave, cleverly uses a very similar username and display picture as the popular online media source known as Pop Crave.
So when the satirical profile posted that Justin 'had traces' of molly, or ecstasy, in his system, many people mistakenly thought the news had come from a legitimate source.
The same profile claimed he had poppers, which are chemicals people inhale to get high, Truvada, a prescription medication used to treat and prevent HIV, and cocaine in his 'bloodstream' following the DWI.

News emerged on Tuesday that Justin (seen leaving the police station), 43, had been taken into custody for driving while intoxicated in exclusive Hamptons enclave Sag Harbor
Afterwards, a satirical account on X, formerly Twitter, tricked many people on social media into believing that the singer was on a series of drugs at the time
The tweet spread quickly across the web, gaining more than 25,000 retweets and 24 million views in a matter of hours.
'Justin Timberlake allegedly had traces of Molly, poppers, Truvada, and coke in his bloodstream following his DWI arrest in New York,' the fake post read.
X has now slapped a warning to readers on the tweet, saying Poo Crave was a 'satire account.'
'Readers added context they thought people might want to know,' it also said.
'This is a satire [account]. According to JT's lawyer, 'The charge was a single count because he refused the breath test.'
''Mr. Timberlake was also charged with two other court citations, running a stop sign and not traveling in the correct traffic lane.' No reports on a blood test.'
In its bio, Poo Crave makes clear that it's not meant to be taken seriously and that it enjoys creating 'chaos' for 'retweets.'
But that didn't stop the post from exploding - and tricking many people.
'The police absolutely would not have tested him for Truvada... WTF is this?' one confused user replied.

Underneath the tweet, there's now a small box that warns readers that it's fake, which says, 'This is a satire account,' but that didn't stop the post from exploding
Another asked, 'Is there a recreational use for Truvada that Google doesn't know about?'
'How did the public get access to his toxicology report so soon?' someone else wondered.
'Truvada? He's married WTF is he taking HIV prevention medication [for]?' a fourth tweet read.
A fifth said, 'I don't even know what most of that stuff is! Glad everyone is OK.'
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the Sexy Back crooner was pulled over shortly after midnight on Tuesday.
Police reportedly saw him blow past a stop sign and observed him swerving across the road.
The father-of-two failed a field sobriety test, and he was handcuffed and arrested, a police report said. At the station, he refused to take a breathalyzer test.
On Tuesday morning, Justin was seen being led across the bridge from Sag Harbor police headquarters to the village's Justice Court by police officers in exclusive pictures obtained by DailyMail.com.
The musician appeared shell-shocked as he looked straight ahead and had handcuffs on.

After a brief arraignment where he was banned from driving for a year in New York, he was released without bail, emerging from court wearing a baseball cap.
He was arraigned on one count of DWI, as well as running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane.
He is next in court on July 26. There has not been any real reports of drugs being in his system.
Justin has admitted to using illicit substances numerous times over the years.
Back in 2006, he confessed to 'getting plastered' and 'doing his fair share of drugs' in secret, and he even said he believed he may get arrested one day for it.
'I've never been arrested... though that's not to say I won't,' the popstar revealed at the time.
'I'm just like everyone else, I get completely plastered, I've done my fair share of drugs and I've been caught with my pants down. I just make sure there are no cameras around.'
Then, in 2013, he revealed at the SXSW Festival that he once attended Coachella Music Festival while he was 'tripping his mind out.'
'This is my first time here. I've been to Coachella many times, on many different substances,' he told Myspace at the event.

He and Alisha were seen holding hands during a night out in New Orleans, and immediately rumors erupted that he had cheated on his wife.
Afterwards, Justin apologized for his 'lapse in judgement,' but insisted nothing happened between them.
'A few weeks ago, I displayed a strong lapse in judgement - but let me be clear - nothing happened between me and my costar,' he insisted in a statement on Instagram.
'I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better.
'This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not it.'
