Ex-NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo becomes highest-profile Democrat to attack Biden yet as he shares scathing words about 81 year-old president's frailty and campaign

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was the latest and perhaps highest-profile Democrat to slam Joe Biden's re-election campaign.

Cuomo - who was forced to resign from the governor's office in 2023 over sexual harassment claims, which he has adamantly denied - was critical of the president and his fellow Democrats on several issues on HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher Friday.

Maher - who qualified that he feels 81-year-old Biden is too old and should've dropped out - wanted Cuomo's analysis of the campaign he's running now that it appears he's staying in the race.

'I don't think he's running an especially good campaign, frankly,' Cuomo said. 'I think there's a big question that he has to answer which is about his age, viability.'

Cuomo, 66, said that the campaign and Biden's advisors need to get the president out in the open if they've got any shot at convincing the public he's capable of serving another term.

'I think the only way you answer that is by getting out there, and letting people see you,' he said: 'That's the only way you put it to rest. I don't think you can hide from that.'

Despite being slightly older than 78-year-old opponent Donald Trump, Biden has constantly faced questions dogging his age and health.

The president has faced criticism from the media and his opponent Trump for a series of recent blunders, including several public moments where Biden appeared to freeze up completely.

Only 38 percent of likely 2024 voters believe President Joe Biden will be alive at the end of another four-year term, according to an exclusive poll for DailyMail.com.

And that means one thing: Vice President Kamala Harris is just as likely to be in the top job as Biden come January 2029 if he wins reelection.

Some 36 percent of likely voters believe Harris will be president at the end of the term. The exact same proportion as think Biden will be in the job.

The results show how the 81-year-old president's age will be a major factor on November 5 when voters pick the commander in chief they want for the next four years.

Biden would be 86 at the end of a second term. Donald Trump, his Republican rival, is only slightly younger but voters harbor fewer doubts, with Trump widely-regarded as having a more youthful energy.

Cuomo also attacked Biden and fellow Democrats Kathy Hochul - who took over his job as governor of the Empire State after he resigned - and New York City Mayor Eric Adams over immigration.

'[Biden's] immigration policy was a mistake,' Cuomo said. 'How you do it makes all the difference in the world.'

'To just open the borders with no plan, you don't know where they go, you don't know who's going to pay for them. Who did you even help?'

He criticized Adams and Hochul for not saying no to any of Biden's ideas without a plan in place.

'Now we're finding out 200,000 people later, you needed a plan, you needed to know what to do with these people.'

He also criticized the Manhattan DA's office for bringing its case against Trump, which resulted in convictions on all 34 counts.

Cuomo has faced his own issues with a Democrat-run justice system stemming from the harassment scandal that cost him his job.

He allegedly subjected at least 13 women to a sexually hostile work environment, a DOJ investigation released in January found.

The disgraced ex-leader 'repeatedly' harassed staff members and retaliated against those who reported it.

Investigators found that Cuomo made 'unwelcome, non-consensual sexual contact' including 'ogling; unwelcome sexual comments; gender-based nicknames; comments on their physical appearances; and/or preferential treatment based on their physical appearances'.

In response to those claims, a rep for Cuomo told the DailyMail.com, 'That report was complete horses**t and an embarrassment to anyone who cares about a fair and functional government. It was a finding with no investigation, no interviews with the governor, his senior staff or even his accusers and no facts whatsoever. Five DAs looked at these allegations and put them in the garbage where they belonged and to this day DOJ hasn’t shown any of their homework or answered a single question about this sham agreement.'

Cuomo - hailed as a hero for much of 2020 over his cool-headed response to the COVID crisis - was once touted as a potential presidential candidate.

The sex pest allegations seemed to put end to Cuomo's political career - but he has been maneuvering back into the spotlight in recent months.

Cuomo's lawyer Rita Glavin dismissed the findings of the report, saying he hadn't been contacted for a comment and that he did not sexually harass anyone.

She told the New York Times: 'This is nothing more than a political settlement with no investigation.'

Cuomo has sued to try and get New York State Attorney General Letitia James to release the full paperwork of her investigation into him.
