Fans waited by the clubhouse at TPC River Highlands for the chance to get a glimpse and an autograph from World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.

They got something in return from the top golfer on the planet - who was celebrating his birthday on Friday while playing in the Travelers Championship.

After the day was delayed due to inclement weather, fans stuck around and joyfully shouted out as they saw him walking over with a box in his hand.

'How was the cake?', one fan shouted out to the golfer, who was walking his newborn son in a stroller.

'You guys can have it... We're not gonna eat it, I had a piece inside [and] they gave me the whole cake,' Scheffler replied.

Just to make sure they knew he wasn't joking, Scheffler said, 'Y'all take the cake, seriously'.

The fans even got Scheffler to sign the cake box as well as a random Dominos pizza box amidst the typical hats and pictures taken.

It was a kind gift from the organizers of the tournament to get Scheffler a cake from a local bakery - specifically Mozzicato's in nearby Hartford - to help him celebrate turning 28-years-old.

So far at the Travelers, Scheffler has shot a 65-64 to sit at 11-under for the tournament.

He's only two shots behind his fellow birthday celebrant, Tom Kim, who sits atop the leaderboard at 13-under for the tournament.
