An Airbnb guest was sent a bold list of demands from a rental host after she was charged more than $1,300 for a two night stay and cleaning fee.

On June 13, the guest, known as Lu, posted the text message she received from the host just hours before she and her family had to check out of the Oregon home.

In the message, sent to Lu at 8:59am, the host asked the mother-of-six to follow a lengthy list of 'departure instructions', before she, her husband and the two children who were with them had to vacate the home by 11am.

'Thank you for your stay. Please follow the departure instructions, mostly importantly removing all garbage and recycling, loading and starting the dishwasher, starting laundry, checking for your belongings and removing all food items,' the message read.

In response, Lu posted the message online and said: 'My last Airbnb I'll ever use. $1,300 for two nights with a cleaning fee and I get this before 9:00 am. Will never stop sharing it.'

Since posting the conversation, Lu has spilled more details on what was required of her to stay at the property, including leaving a tip for cleaners.

'With a note that says please tip cleaning staff..... I just did dishes and laundry what are you even saying,' Lu said in a separate post.

Commenters suggested that Lu look over the booking information and  view the 'show more' section.

The mother revealed that under the 'Additional rules' statement on the listing, the host only mentioned that guests had to be over the age of 24, strict parking rules, and that 'other important info will be sent via email.'

'Zero emails were ever sent regarding any of it,' Lu added.

She also posted screenshots of the listing, including her receipt of $1,329.79 for the two night stay, including a cleaning fee.

'There isn't a damn thing here in this listing about me doing the dished. SHENANIGANS,' Lu said.

She took to social media and shared that she will no longer be using AirBnb after the host of the home sent her a list of chores to complete just hours before they had to check out. (pictured: Stock image of beach town)

On June 17, the guest- amazed by all of the attention her post got- shared an update video on what happened following her experience.

Lu explained that a representative from Airbnb's management team got in contact with her and 'offered support.'

'I didn't feel like I needed a refund or anything of that nature- I did offer what I thought might be helpful suggestions, but I haven't heard anything back, which I find unprofessional,' she said.

She then mentioned the 'themes' of the comments she received, including the topic of 'common courtesy,' which many brought up in response to her being upset over the chores.

'In an Airbnb, really that's a business transaction in which the logistics of their turn over is a business logistics issue for them, and not a curtesy problem for the guests who are paying to be there,' Lu said.

Lu confirmed that she 'read the full listing' because she did not 'want to do manual labor' on her vacation with her husband and two kids.

Many people flocked to her post and weighed in on her rental experience, as some agreed with Lu and others took the host's side.

'Yes! You are 100 percent correct. This is why I will always stay in hotels,' one said.

'This is ridiculous what with you paying a "cleaning fee" what ever for?? You did all the cleaning! They should send that portion back to you, at least,' another wrote.

Another person commented: 'I wouldn't do anything. Just leave.'

While many agreed with Lu's stance on the situation, others were not as sympathetic toward her.

'Why wouldn't you do the dishes? I always clean up after myself and leave the place better than when I found it. It's courtesy,' someone said.

'Most Airbnb's ask you to throw all the towels in the washer and run it because it takes 2+ hours to wash and they want it done for the next guest. Seems reasonable to me,' another person wrote.

It is unclear exactly why this took place but Lu told one commenter that the rental was located near Lincoln City, a coastal town in Oregon.

Replying to people who questioned her unimpressed reaction to the text message, Lu had a message to the hosts,

'You've chosen to rent out your vacation property, so stop being confused when people stay there and use it for the funds that you get in exchange for that.'

According to Airbnb's website, guests are expected to 'treat Host's homes like their own' and to 'follow the Host’s standard house rules.'

'Good communication between Hosts and guests is important for successful stays,' the rental site added.

Airbnb told DailyMail.com: 'This tweet is actually an older post from 2022 and we have not been able to locate an account for this individual.'
