Caitlin Clark has said it would be 'a lot of fun' to play alongside Angel Reese in next month's WNBA All-Star game - despite their bubbling rivalry over recent years.

Reese helped the Chicago Sky beat the Indiana Fever on Sunday night, in the teams' third meeting this season.

There was no scandal this time round, unlike when Chennedy Carter controversially hip checked Clark, sending shockwaves around the sport.

But the stories of the two WNBA rookies have been entwined ever since the NCAA Championship game in 2023, when Reese taunted her rival as LSU beat Iowa.

They could be teammates next month, when the US OIympic team takes on Team WNBA in Phoenix on July 20. Both rookies were in the top 10 picks after early fan voting.

When Clark was asked on Sunday night about the prospect of playing on the same team as Reese for the very first time, she said: 'It would be a lot of fun... I'm sure people would love it'

Clark added: 'I think both of us would probably tell you that our focus is on definitely playing basketball and if that works out for the both us - great... we've never played together.'

The Fever star heaped praise on Reese, claiming she has had a 'tremendous' rookie season in the WNBA.

'I don't really know what goes into how they select the All-Star team,' she continued.

'I know fan vote is part of it but there are also a lot of other criteria. She's had a tremendous season and if that was to happen, I'm sure people would love it.'

The final rosters for the All-Star game will be revealed on July 2. They will be selected through a combination of fan votes (50 per cent), current WNBA players (25 per cent) and media (25 per cent).

Any national team members will stay on Team USA. Clark was controversially left off the roster for this summer's Olympics in Paris.
