A woman who claims she was gang raped by a group of men celebrating a bucks weekend initially told police she had enjoyed herself and described the encounters as an 'orgy'.
'Miss B' was 18 when she had consensual sex with two members of the party at an Airbnb in the NSW Hunter Valley before she was allegedly sexually assaulted.
Now 20, the woman told a jury on Monday she was not telling the truth when first interviewed by detectives about a fortnight after the alleged gang rapes.
'At first, I was like this is scary but soon I started to enjoy myself,' she told police of the time she spent with the men in an apartment.
'I was never going to speak with police after my experience with the boys as I gave full consent.'
Maurice Hawell, his brother Marius Hawell and their friend Andrew David have pleaded not guilty to a string of charges including aggravated sexual assault.
Three women, Miss A, Miss B, and Miss C, have told police they were subjected to sexual assaults but they cannot identify which men were allegedly responsible.

Miss A and Miss B say they were raped at the same time in an apartment rented for a bucks weekend, while Miss C says she was abused there the next night.
Maurice Hawell, 30, and David, 28, say any sex they had was consensual and deny performing certain acts, while 22-year-old Marius Hawell insists he did not take part in any sexual activity at all.
The three men, all of whom are from Sydney, are facing trial together in Downing Centre District Court on the basis they engaged in a joint criminal enterprise.
The Hawells, David and six other friends booked Airbnb accommodation in Newcastle from Friday, February 25 through to Sunday, February 27, 2022, ahead of Maurice Hawell's wedding.
After meeting members of the group at the Cambridge Hotel in Hunter Street on the Friday night, Miss A and Miss B agreed to go with them to the nearby Parry Street apartment.
Miss A had consensual sex with one of the men, 'Matt', while Miss B had consensual sex in another bedroom with two others the Crowns says were Maurice Hawell and Andrew David.
Miss B has told a jury that when she was finished having sex with Maurice Hawell and David, a third man the Crown says was Marius Hawell entered the room and sexually touched her.
Both women have given evidence they were then sexually assaulted by at least two men in the room where Miss A and Matt had previously had consensual intercourse.
Maurice Hawell (pictured) has pleaded not guilty to 11 charges involving three women who alleged they were raped during a bucks weekend. The woman pictured is unrelated to the case
They have told the jury the light was turned off and they could not see who was raping them.
Matt is not accused of having committed any wrongdoing at any time and has never been charged with any offence in relation to what happened in the apartment.
When Miss A and Miss B left the apartment, they returned to the Cambridge with Matt where they met up with several of their friends who had been at the pub earlier in the evening.
'We said that we had an orgy,' Miss B said on Monday of what she told her friends about what had happened in the apartment.
'I said that and [Miss A] said that. They just started laughing and thinking it was funny.'
Asked why she had described what were now alleged to include rapes as an 'orgy', Miss B said in her mind 'that was just the best way to describe what had happened'.
Miss B said she was contacted by police several weeks after that night and on March 9 made a formal statement.
'I said that I consented,' she told the jury.

Miss B said she did not discuss the events in the Airbnb with anyone else until she had a conversation with her grandmother almost a year later.
'I told her that something had happened to me last February and I told her that it had taken a toll on me,' she said.
'I felt as though I had to talk to somebody about what happened and she was the only person that I felt safe with.'
Miss B's grandmother said Miss B told her she and Miss A had each gone into a separate room with a man - 'she was pretty upset and embarrassed'.
The grandmother said Miss B told her she ended up in the same room as Miss A, the room had gone dark, and Miss A began calling out for Matt.
'I said, "What are you going to do about it?"' the grandmother said. 'She said, "Nan, I just want to forget about it".'
The day after that conversation, Miss B was with her father when her grandmother rang and told him that 'something happened' to his daughter.

'Knowing my daughter I could tell straight away that she'd gone into shutdown and then she started crying,' Miss B's father said.
The father said Miss B told him she had been having sex with a man when 'another two or three guys entered the room'.
'I said to [Miss B], "Did you give consent?" and she said, "Only to the first guy, not to anyone else that came into the room".'
Miss B had been upset her grandmother had breached her confidence but later that day she spoke with her father's partner.
'I told her that I had sex with five males,' Miss B said. 'I said that because thinking in my head there was two men on myself and seeing three on [Miss A] I made an assumption there was five males.'
Miss B's father's partner gave evidence about that conversation.
She said Miss B told her she had engaged in consensual sex with one man, then another man entered the room with whom she had no intention of having intercourse.
This crime scene picture taken by police shows the living area of the Airbnb rented by the men. Miss A and Miss B say they were raped in the middle room shown with the door ajar
Miss B had told her that second man then left, Miss A came in, and three to five males entered the room.
Miss B's father and his partner gave evidence that conversation took place on January 30 last year.
Miss B was later contacted again by police and on March 28 last year made a second formal statement.
She has told the jury she had never discussed with Miss A what had allegedly happened to either of them at the apartment.
Miss B said she had originally told police her alleged rapes were consensual sex because she had not said or done anything to suggest she was not consenting.
Maurice Hawell and David are charged with eight counts of aggravated sexual assault in company and one count each of aggravated sexually touching another person and attempted aggravated sexual assault in company.
Marius Hawell is charged with six counts of aggravated sexual assault in company and one count each of aggravated sexually touching another person and attempted aggravated sexual assault in company.
Miss C is yet to give evidence about what allegedly happened to her.
The trial, before Judge Gina O'Rourke, continues.
