Days after Barstool boss Dave Portnoy revealed his shock cancer scare and that he had a cancerous mole removed from his neck, he was back on social media celebrating another massive successful sports bet.

This one involved putting down $180,000 on Scottie Scheffler to win the Travelers Championship. At +180 odds, Portnoy pocketed $504,000.

Scheffler won the Travelers in a playoff over Tom Kim at 22-under-par on Sunday, continuing his amazing run in 2024.

The world's No 1 golfer has doubled his number of PGA Tour victories for his career already this season, now at a dozen with his sixth triumph of the calendar year.

Portnoy has become known, among other things, for placing exuberant bets on his favorite athletes. On Scheffler alone, he won $1.35million after a $300,000 bet on him to win the Masters a few months back.

In his shirtless celebration, Portnoy is pumping his fists up and down in a green bathing suit saying 'Scottie! Scottie! Scottie!'

Portnoy also bet $600,000 on UConn men's basketball to win this year's NCAA men's basketball tournament. The Huskies repeating as national champions earned the Barstool boss $2.7million.

To kick off 2024, Portnoy won $1.5million with a correct predication of Michigan beating Alabama in a College Football Playoff semifinal.

Portnoy tweeted on May 20 that he wanted to get his moles checked, writing: 'I'm in the market for the best dermatologist in Miami to tell me how my moles are doing. Lead from the front. I suck at doctors.'

That led to his revelation of having a cancerous mole removed about a month later.

Now in remission, Portnoy's sports bets are sure to continue, although he included a gambling-problem hotline phone number in a reply to his successful-bet message.
